How did you get your updates first or the good news? 

1- USCIS site.

2- USCIS letter.

3- USCIS app.

4- USCIS call.

I'm not sure USCIS calls people, but we actually found out first from the app. My fiancé (the beneficiary) had it on his phone and was checking, like, every day there at the end for like a month, lol. So he happened to find out before I did. I received the official NOA2 letter in the mail I think a couple of days later. We had sent the form for electronic notification (which I did get an email AND text for NOA1), but did not receive email or text for NOA2. I think things got convoluted at the time because it was during the holidays, though.

Ah . Sorry, wasn't sure

 

I know some people have found by phone, but it just depends on if you happen to call at the right time. We actually had that luck with NVC - I happened to call the day after they received our case, so I got the case number over the phone before actually receiving the letter.

 

Overall, having the app helps. It updates pretty close to real time, if not in real time. It even showed when it changed from AP to Issued after his interview and the visa was sent to him.
