Once my I-130 petition approved, the USCIS will send the approved petition to NVC.  I am not sure if NVC will notify both me (petitioner) and my wife (beneficiary) that they have received the approved petition from the USCIS. Does anyone know about this? Will the NVC contact me about the case? I worry about this because my wife's English is not good and she may miss something...

Also during the interview, will the consular office speak a language other than English with my wife, for example, Chinese? Or can we ask the consular office to speak Chinese during the interview? Does anyone have such kind of experience?

Tons of thanks.

Usually the petitioner would receive an notification first with the approval notice and so telling you thay all instructions are being sent to the local Embassy where the beneficiary lives. Then she should start getting ready with additional paper work and interview.

As far as the interview goes, she should be able to do the interview in her language, meaning that English isnt mandatory from what I have seen here and from my personal experience.

COs are generally expected to speak the local language, and interpreters should be available. The interview is not about her English speaking ability.

That said, there is generally an expectation that the petitioner and beneficiary speak a common language or else it will likely face higher scrutiny.

Thank you very much. I did receive I-130 approval notice from USCIS 25 days ago, but I have not received anything from NVC. I have no idea what's going on between USCIS and NVC. Will NVC send me (petitioner) anything? My wife also has not received anything from NVC and/or consulate?

How long do we have to wait for the welcome letter from NVC, for example, 30 days? After 30 days waiting, then we can inquire NVC?

Thanks a lot.
