I haven't seen any good fictional movies but if you have On Demand and are interested in the history between Iranian and American relations, they have a section on Iran with a lot of documentaries about the Iranian hostage taking as well as an inside view of Iran by Ted Koppel. It was really interesting and not too too biased, though obviously a little bit.

Hi all, I have been working nights which means eat, sleep, work, and no time for VJ. Now I'm back on days, but I don't get a day off this weekend, which means 3 weeks with no day off. :crying: Though I only have to work a half day tomorrow, so I guess I should be happy about that.

I LOVE challah. I can't imagine whole wheat challah, it definitely wouldn't be as good as regular low-fiber high starch challah.

Happy cinco de mayo all, hopefully tomorrow night I'll convince habibi to go out for some mexican food (but no margaritas since I'm working the next day, sigh)

Wow did I shop today!!!!! It was an awesome day!

I am baking a cake that I heard about on the radio. You use a devil's food cake and instead of water you use a can of Coke. You make it in a bundt pan with caramel and a flan on the caramel......it's in the oven, if it turns out ok, I will post the recipe.

I've made this, Jackie, and it did come out really well! I've also used Sprite or 7Up in white cakes. You can also add (instead of caramel) a can of cherry pie filling to the choco cake and it's quite yummy!

oh man...my challah did NOT turn out well. i make it every friday. perfect. but today the little girl was bothering me in the kitchen. really testing my patience. "whats this, jenny?", "can i do this?" ,"whats that!" over and over! and i was cooking five things at once. i had one oven at BROIL and the other at 400 for the bread...and what do you know... i put the bread in the broiler and didn't realize it until i smelt it burnt! completely BLACK! :(

so the maid had to go buy a regular challah at the market. so embarrassing! i'm just not used to talking a lot and being distracted while cooking..... i can't even imagine when i have kids someday. who can concentrate with kids pulling your leg and talking all day?
