My Petition Expired – Can It Be Extended?
The I-129F petition is valid for four months from the date of approval by USCIS. A consular officer can extend the validity of the petition if it expires before visa processing is completed.

Hey everyone!! I am not sure if I am in the right  forum, but I filed my I-129F package and I just realized that both my fiancé and I have not signed our intent to marry statements. I mean we did type our names and dated the forms but no signature. Will that a problem? HELP!! I am going crazy 😂😂 and we have known each other from back home (Cameroon) before I moved here to the US, but I failed to mention that in the statement of circumstances of meeting as I only thought all they need was for me to describe that we meet the requirements of having met within 2 years. I am so nervous!! Any one had a situation like that? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

You may receive an RFE for not signing the letters of intent to marry.

The circumstances of meeting part shouldn't be an issue.

Ok thank thank you!! I just hope I get the RFE because I have seen a lot of posts where people claimed they never received an RFE though it was sent, but then they  got denied. I can only hope it does not happen!! Fingers crossed

I appreciate all of the help I've been getting on this site. How long can my fiance wait to schedule the interview after our I-129F is approved? Does it expire?

The reason I asked is because she's on an ofw contract until next year. She doesn't want to interview in the current country she is in. So if I file now, and she gets approved in the next 4 months, she won't be able to schedule the interview until she gets home. Meanwhile I'm planning to start another job after sending my I-129f application. So can my fiance wait for a few months before scheduling the interview?

Consider that NVC will transfer your case to the embassy you listed on your petition, if you need to change it, you'll have to ask for a transfer to the new embassy and this could delay even more the process (depending on how the two embassies communicate) just something to consider!
