Hello I was wondering if anyone is willing to help me out with the I-864, and I-864a form. I'm currently filling it out and I've come across some information that the I-864 for should be filled by my husband even if hes unemployed, I previously written the sponsor as my mother in law. His parents are supporting me so I'm guessing I add them as joint sponsors? I'm just confused in accordance to the information asking for his tax information, he's listed as a dependent on his parents taxes. Would I need to fill out the information based on that info since he doesn't make the amount required to fill taxes?

yes,

your husband, as the primary sponsor and petitioner, must always fill out the i864.

he can have a joint sponsor o joint sponsors if he doesn't make enough

he will have to attach a letter explaining why he doesn't file his taxes and why he is considered his parent's dependent

his mom will be his joint sponsor. do you all live in the same house or in different places?

So I would have to file his mother has his joint sponsor on the 1-864a form correct? Are you allowed to have more than one joint sponsor? Yes they are all currently living together, I plan on moving in with them when my visa goes through.

His mother as the joint sponsor will fill out her own I-864...if she filed her taxes jointly with a spouse, then that person fills out the I-864a

Since the affidavits of support are going to be signed by the petitioner and joint sponsor, who understand US tax returns etc. it is far more efficient for the petitioner to start by becoming an a-student of the I-864 instructions.  Then have HIM come here and ask questions about anything he doesn't understand AFTER doing the homework.
