Hi,

I am applying for the I-129F fiance visa and my interview will be at the Sydney embassy.

I have received my case number, booked my medical, done the DS-160 and paid the necessary fee. I am now very confused about what the next stage is - when am I supposed to have completed the affidavit of support etc. and do you book the interview or do they just send you an appointment? Any advice would be appreciated as I am nervous about missing anything.

Thanks

According to the consulate website:

Interviews are by appointment only.  Your K-1 fiancé(e) visa interview will be scheduled for you by the U.S. Consulate General in Sydney, upon receipt of your file from the National Visa Center (NVC).  Please bring a copy of your appointment letter to your interview.  You will not be admitted more than 15 minutes prior to the time shown and arriving too late may result in the cancellation of your appointment. You can expect to be at the Consulate for approximately two to three hours.

Affidavit is brought to the interview

If the answer about the interview question is not correct hopefully somebody will correct it

You or your fiance/e should have received an email for your next instructions, which is to send information to the embassy via email.

What they require:

- your full name

- case number

- email address

- DS-160 confirmation page

- MRV fee

Once you send all that to them via email, they should send you your appointment interview date via email within the day or two.

Not sure how you got your medical booked without your appointment date though. Usually they require that information.

You can also refer to the Australian portal on visajourney for any other info - http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Australia&cty=Sydney

The Affidavit of Support should be filled out before the interview and taken to there, along with supplementary documents for the affidavit (fiance's tax stuff, bank statements etc.). If you go to the "What to send to your fiance once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2)" section of the k1 visa guide (http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide) you should see what you need for the interview.
