Hi All,

I am a here, but am waiting impatiently in silence. I called USCIS on Friday and the rep said that in the California Processing Center they were on September 8, 2017. Since yesterday it jumped to September 11, 2017. I might be mistaken, however, I see approvals on here for October. I am altogether confused. Please help. I am an October 5 filer.

Any insight will truly bail me out of my misery, and confusion :)

Thanks

While USCIS generally processes cases in order, they are not strictly processed in order. It's possible to have cases a month or 2 months ahead of your be processed, or cases months behind yours be processed. It doesn't mean anything is wrong with your case. Your case could be picked up by a fast worker, slow worker, one who goes on vacation, etc.

The timelines posted by USCIS are what they use to determine if your case is outside normal processing timelines, and you can submit a service request.

Timelines:

Thank you. It is so overwhelming. I truly appreciate your quick response. All I have to do is wait :)

Try to relax and focus on your loved one instead of the process.  It will happen.  Trust me.  We waited 9 months and 7 days and at least one May filer was at 10 months and 3 days.  There were also a few that got done in 47 days.  Don't try to find logic in this.  Relax and focus on what is truly important.  The stress has ended many relationships here.  Don't get to hung up on the process.  It flies once you receive NOA2.  Also, don't rely on the timeline estimate here.  It is just an estimate using people who are members here and who update they timelines.  My original estimate was September 6.  We were approved on March 8.  When we were approved on March 8 our timeline estimate was December 23.  LOL  Just relax.  This is going to happen.

Trust me.  I know it is easier to say than to do.  Everyday that went by was killing me.  Luckily Rose kept me focused.  Now we are ready for our interview on April 17.

Last year when I was filing I was getting all excited because a bunch of people were getting their visas approved at the 3 month mark and I thought mine should be approved because my case was submitted before theirs but nope mine got approved around the 4.5 month mark so a whole 1.5 months after which was big considering 1.5 is half of 3.   Although processing times have really slowed down I wouldn't worry ever let alone before 9 months as everyone's processing times are so different. The process isn't the best I know sigh. Good luck!!

I'm 2 days away from 300 days. There's no rhyme or reason. I'm 28 days now on waiting since they received my RFE. Some people got it 2 weeks after. Who knows.

Yep, 8 months into mine. They received my rfe March 19th, and yet I noticed many timelines get their noa2 a week or 2 after its received. Someone I keep in contact with got his K1 in 2 months before me and its been over a month since they got his rfe replied to. USCIS is just all over the place lol

He does not need a copy of your passport for the I-129F unless it is to prove you visited him in the States.  You will need that later though.

You can email or fax the Letter of Intent.  Most items at this stage can be copies.  He will need wet signatures later but at this point copies are fine.
