Transfering Student - Visa Expiring

Hi,

I'm an international student with an associates in Business in Houston, TX.  I'm thinking about getting another associates in a different field or transferring to a 4 year college to get a Bachelors. My Student Visa and Passport expire in December, 2018 so my question is: Can I transfer/switch schools on an expired visa? Can I renew my I-20 on an expired visa? Will universities and community colleges ask to see visa when I apply?

Thank you.

First most colleges will only accept the credits for 2 years / they want you to get the last 2 years of credits from them so be careful not to waste money and time / see what credits will transfer for you new degree choice

Second you need to renew that passpost / can be done by mail in US to Morocco embassy

and Third find out if you are accepted at the college and then see if they have an office to help with renewing your student visa/  larger universitys do have a lawyer to help the incoming  students

The i-20 and the visa are unrelated.

To be a full time student the i-20 has to be valid. The F1 is just for entering the US. Even if the F1 expired, as long as you are in the US with a valid i-20 you can continue your studies. If you leave the US with an expired F1, you will have to go back to your country to renew it (technically it could be done at another consulate but it takes a lot longer and it could be denied).

The passport question is different. You should renew it as indicated above, but if it is expired you can continue being a full-time student while you are in the US. I recommend that before renewing the passport you get a driver's license (or a state ID if you don't drive), because you will need an official ID while you are renewing your passport (though try to start the process before your passport expires, but it would be a problem to have no valid ID if it expires before you get the new passport).

I recommend going for a bachelor degree. You don't want 2 associate degrees.
