I agree, and they certainly wouldn't hesitate to gas some people to get the rest of the world to attack Assad since they are essentially cornered, it makes perfect sense from a strategic standpoint, and makes little sense that the Assad regime would have done it.  That being said, who knows at this point, but I suppose jumping to conclusions works best.

I agree with you and there were attacks in the past where if you even studied it for 5 minutes past the façade of "Assad gassed so and so" you would see that he didn't do it but another faction did it. But really who knows at this point but I take the Israelis knew enough to go bombing T4 last night.

There are many rebels who aren't terrorists who are just fighting to try and get away from a brutal dictator and I don't agree with lumping them all together.

Just like I said in my original post is that I could believe that 3,4,5 years ago but now. The more moderate elements were forced out, killed, or forced to join the more extremist elements. There are some elements that were forced to become more moderate because their area started to rise up around them.

You can not agree with me if you want but it's the truth.

Honestly could just be a weird coincidence but I'm not entirely sure the two are connected. Israel has attacked in Syria many times if there were things going on that could threaten its security, the Syrians and Iranians may have been that brazen that at the same time they attacked with gas they may have been planning/preparing for something else Israel didn't like. I don't think Israel would attack because of an attack on the rebels tbh - giving innocent civilians medical aid for humanitarian reasons is one thing but it tries to stay out of the civil war.

That's a terrible statement to make, about just about anything - even I don't go around saying that :jest:

Sorry about that. I am not some dumb American but I love and live foreign policy, and I love to study it in depth. I will write more later when I get home and off mobile. I totally agree that Israel has bombed them in the past, but it's usually for serious issues like arms convoys coming in from Lebanon and Israel said F that.

I am not saying it is rebels here but it could be due to them trying to illicit sympathy for Douma since they are losing that pocket soon.

You need actual evidence to make a statement like that. Not just your opinion.

If you followed the Syrian war at all and not a general western perspective you would know what I say is the truth. The so called FSA are terrorists. The most moderate faction in the whole country is the SDF/YPG.

I'd love to know the sources you have "studied".

How you made any recent trips to the area to get first hand experience?

I agree with you on the Israeli attack, it may not have been due to the gassing situation.

Exactly, even those on the ground are unsure if what is really occuring.

Are you sure about the FSA? I think they have been defunct since 2012

SDF/YPG is the ally if America and the PUK

The majority of the information is open source news, you just have to be able to know where to go and be able to look beyond the bias that some networks have to piece together the big picture so to speak. It really is quite easy to do if you have been following it for some time. You just have to be able to piece it together to get the big picture.

You can try to talk condescendingly to me it's ok I understand it. But what I am saying is the truth. The only so called FSA factions that have lasted are the ones that have chosen to go extremist in order to get the money and the weapons from the Gulf states. Not to mention that the Turkish back factions are pretty Islamist as well.

The difference is that there are factions within certain enclaves that can not look beyond their enclave due to what's being going on on the ground the last year. They have slowly beaten back due to the influx of the Iranian backed fighters and Hezbollah. But it has cost a lot of men both for Hezbollah and Iran. Iran has turned to using Afghan immigrants and criminals to help bolster their numbers. While Hezbollah has resorted to trying to bolster their numbers by appealing to the Christians in Lebanon to get enough fighters.

Yes, I am sure because that is what the name of the umbrella group is called now. But in the group it has numerous different groups that are constantly fighting each other for control over their territory.

I know that the SDF is our ally and I think we should support them.no matter what.

Sorry it was early in the morning I honestly wasn't trying to be condescending. If you know so strongly that it is true, I'm just asking for your source of information for that statement. Usually when someone is so confident they should be more than capable of providing their source information.

Just saying "it's available if you know where to go and look beyond the bias" is vague and sketchy at best. I've heard something similar from people arguing that Aliens are among us..."Look behind the lies man! The government is hiding it man! Wear the tinfoil man!"

I love my tinfoil hat it makes me look super sexy while I am staying at the mirror in my basement.

All I can say about my sources and how I get my information is that I love foreign policy issues and I spend alot of my time trying to gather all of the information I read in hope to make sense of it. Sometimes I don't have all the information so I do listen to a couple foreign policy podcasts that help better understand it all. It is very complex to say the least.
