Hi Everyone!

I am in a tough spot right now and I need my questions answered. Please HELP. I recently got hired in a bakery shop but my manager won't let me work because my GREEN CARD expired and I don't have a work permit. I really need to work because I don't have money to renew it yet.
So my questions are:
I already filled my FORM I-9, what do I do next?
How long does it take to get approved?
Can I still work while I am waiting for my Form I-9 to get approved?
Thank You so much for taking the time in your day to answer my question.

If your GC is expired and you have not filed for renewal then you can not work at all, it is literally that simple. If you get caught working out of status it is a serious problem.

Your I-9 will never be approved until you provide a VALID unexpired document authorizing you to work.

YMMV
