Hello,

I had my citizenship interview approved on 01/15/2020. (San Antonio, TX)

I am going to move soon, and I know if I change my address, the oath ceremony is going to be delayed.

Anyone has any news on 2020 oath ceremony dates? Has anyone been scheduled for the oath in 2020?

Did the interview officer mention anything about the scheduling process for oath taking? My interview is on Feb 10th and I am planning to ask the IO about the oath taking scheduling process.

There is at least one oath taking happening in San Antonio within next 30 days. You can use this search tool to look for the schedule. https://www.txwd.uscourts.gov/judges-information/judges-calendars/index.html#/all-divisions/all-judges/2020-01-18-to-2020-02-17/

If you use CTRL+F to search for Naturalization, you will be able to see quickly entries pertaining to oath taking.

Yes, I asked him, he said you will get a mail with all the details in 3 weeks. He said I don't have any idea when it will happen.

Thank you for the link. The interesting thing is if you change it to Austin, there are a lot more day for the ceremony! I am not sure if they will assign me to Austin or not.

But the link is only for judge needed kind of ceremony. There is a room at San Antonio USCIS office that I think is designated to the ceremony without the judges (with no name change.)

I don't have a name change, so maybe I will be going back there.

I will post here when I get the date for myself.

Thanks!

Yes you are right about the court dates. The search won't show non-court related ceremonies. There is also Austin Central Public Library which publicizes its oath ceremonies on their webpage. They have two of those coming up in next month. http://library.austintexas.gov/event-tags/citizenship-ciudadan

I am glad that at least your officer didn't refer you to the standard 120 day wait-time for the oath taking. Three weeks seem arbitrary and might be reflective of the average time estimate for San Antonio.

By the way did you get approved on the spot or the status got updated after the interview? If it  is the latter, how long did that take?

It seems they sticked to their schedule, I just got a status update, my Oath Ceremony is scheduled! This is really fast! I will post the date and place when I see the letter online.

That's great! Btw, what documents did you have to show during the interview? Were you applying under three year rule or five?
