Husband has no work in the US

My husband has been a greencard holder since 2009 but he hasn’t stayed in the US for a long duration of time. The longest time he has stayed there was only 2 months. He’s been applying for re-entry permit the past years due to school and work. Last october 2016, he filed our petition and was approved. Priority date is: October 2016. He will be going to the US tomorrow for good this time and will submit the required civil and financial documents. However, since he hasn’t stayed there, he has no financial documents of his own to show. But we will be sponsored by his uncle. I’m really confused and worried. This may probably sound stupid because i’m not at all familiar with the documents. Will this affect our waiting time?

Well I'm pretty sure your husband need US domicile. Though at this point I'd be more worried if they won't send him to court and take his green card away.

Just want to add that it's ridiculous that during past 9 years he only stayed 2 months in the USA. I also thought you can only file re entry permit once. Really make sure his green card is not a piece of junk plastic before you start playing anything.

As for us domicle, before your husband start sponsoring you he needs a job, a place to live, any ties to the US. Though I'm kind of 90% sure he lost his residence a while ago.

Why does he need to sponsored by his Uncle if he has a Green Card?

So he has been living out of US for a couple of years since 2009? That GC is gone for sure. He better check on that first before packing all the stuffs and planning any move to US.

Not only that but a re-entry permit needs to be acquired prior to departure....  An SB-1 would be the option but to qualify is limited and even that option dies after a couple of years out of the country

YMMV
