Health care when returning to the US

Hello all,

 

Quick question about how to obtain health insurance for a move back to the US- my husband in is a USC but hasn't lived there since he was a child and has no relatives. He will move back to the US in a few weeks and will be on a low income when he arrives, will he me eligible for medicade?

 

I will move a month later and since I will be on a cr-1 visa I know I won't be eligible, any suggestions of low cost temporary options while I job hunt?

 

thanks in advance for any advice! I have tried researching this but it's difficult to find an answer!
