Incorrect resident since date

Why we are all getting completely different updates?? 

Me too and a letter is coming from the Eastern Forms Center.  It's likely that the lever has been pulled and they are beginning to recall our cards and that notification almost takes our case backward in the 'case history' to when the card was mailed in getting it ready to mail a new once they make it.

Just got it, this letter is the recall and envelope.  You've got 20 days to send it.

Just received the recall letter. 20days to send the card to a different address in VT. I already sent it to the address in CA they told me. At the end of the letter there is an email to contact if you have already send the GC. I'm guessing now I have to do that...

I emailed them a little while ago with a copy of the front and back of the card, told them who I sent it to and where. I wonder if they'll reply and if they do, whether it will be more generic non-replies

My GC is wrong too, sort of glad to know it wasn't just me. Mailed April 2/3, I think, and they put my I-751 approval date as my Resident Since date. I needed the card and felt so upset/defeated at the prospect of having to start a 10 month long I-90 process (and having to explain all of this during the N-400) that I just hadn't taken action since. I'd read on VJ about the typographical error request and was going to try that eventually, but now I guess I'm glad I didn't. I hope it gets resolved soon for those who did - I think being proactive about trying to fix this was really the right thing to do so that sucks. 

 

I've been getting all the weird past case updates the past few days too but thought it was just their glitchy system. Just received the USPS notice that I'm getting the letter from Eastern Forms Center today in the mail and I'm glad I found this thread. The fact that I was going to have to deal with this sooner rather than later had been looming in the back of my mind and the 15 day turnaround sounds extremely promising and a happy resolution to a process that so far has sucked quite a bit.

I just emailed them attaching a copy of my GC, letter added to the package I sent on April 30th to Laguna Niguel,CA and the proof of delivery I obtained from FedEx, plus the inquiry email. I really hope we don't get punished (as taking longer than the 3 weeks they say in the recall) for being proactive to correct THEIR mistake. I wonder the say thing, if they even going to reply to these e-mails or how soon. It took 20 days to reply my inquiry. Also, it is being over 2 weeks since they received my card and no answer yet.

Honestly, I have the feeling that is going to take longer than 3weeks, we are talking about over 8,000 people returning their cards...

I just got a response from my service request and they confirmed they have my card and will review it

I have just received the letter via mail from them. It was like what it said on their recall notice. Since I have also submitted mine before this recall, I am going to send them an email that would include their replies to my service requests and also the fedex delivery receipt. It also said on the letter:

 

"Please allow 3 weeks for us to process the return of your old Green Card and print your new Green Card. You can check the status of your new card at www.uscis.gov/casestatus. Use the receipt number associated with your initial Green Card filing."

 

Which made me think, is this why I received notification that my status changed, just like the others?? Anyway, those who are yet to return their incorrect GCs, send it using the prepaid envelope within 20 days! I will update you if they respond back to my email.

Have you received an answer from the e-mail in the recall letter? I haven't heard anything from none (no answer from receiving my card, no answer from the recall e-mail... ) I'm submitting a service inquiry because this is being too long. I don't think they are ready for the recall they just started..

I finally got a reply from the customer engagement center. They're asking me to return my recall notice and a statement explaining where I sent my card to and when. I already threw out the prepaid envelope though, so I guess I'll be sending it to them on my dime lol.

Yep, got the same response. I also threw away the prepaid envelope so I am sending via certified mail. Dang, they are making it too hard for us!!

I got the same response on Saturday early morning (someone might be doing extra hours). They are making this hard for the ones that we tried to fix THEIR mistake. They could have included that information in the recall letter instead making us email them and wait for another week.. I hope this is the last step, which have been too many already... Are you sending anything special with the statement?

They really are making it a bit hard. Their response yesterday meant that I had to send my response in via priority shipping, hoping it won't get there after the cut-off of 20 days (for me that's May 30th, probably the same for everyone). I wonder if on May 31st they incinerate everyone else's cards/letters and never contact them again lol.

 

I sent in my statement which was the following:

Prior to the recall being made public, I had contacted USCIS via online service request. I received instructions to return my incorrectly printed card to the attention of “Admin Error WS13386” located at the California Service Center in Laguna Niguel, CA and was also instructed to request an expedite, which I did. It arrived there on 4/26/2018.

 

I enclose the instructions I received along with the receipt notice I subsequently received when I inquired as to what the status was with my card. They stated they had pulled my file for review, but to date, I have not received my new card. Today marks one month since they received my card.

 

I am wondering if California could transfer responsibility of printing the new card to the Eastern Forms Center so that it may be completed in a timely manner, per the three week turnaround time noted in your recall notice.

Then along with those enclosed documents, I put in the original recall notice. Made a copy for myself. Who knows what will happen now, but at the very least, I'm glad that this whole thing hasn't just been met with radio silence from USCIS.
