My wife needs to renew her Philippines passport to prepare for a planned trip from the US in August.

We plan to go to LA in about 10 days to do the renewal.

On the website it shows this can normally take 10 weeks. That is getting a bit close. Then I also saw a pop up on the  website there are current delays processing passports.

http://www.philippineconsulatela.org/consular-services-2/passport/applicant-for-renewal

Does anyone know about how long it will really take from the time from office visit to do passport renewal to passport in hand?

Thanks in advance for any info

Being they are telling you that DFA is experiencing delays it is hard to say.         DFA has a whole new computer system that was to speed things up .. which is was doing for a time.  Now it appears they broke it.

No one can give you an answer ..  plan for the worse and hope for the best.

Normal passport is 30 days in country.  8-10 weeks for a passport outside the country does not seem far fetched

Took two weeks for my wife to receive her new passport while in the Philippines, this was last September.   LBC was at the door with a smile.

Now the fixxers have taken over the appointment system again... so getting an appt is the hard part.

There is only one out reach in VA which is VB. In May is Raleigh.

I am fine I was just curious why you were going to the one in May is all

That should have been your first question and then I would answer it this way.

1. In the past we have not made the cutoff for the invite/appointment system they use leaving us the only option of going to DC. DC is a good drive as well as expensive for hotel etc. So if we didn't get VB then we would have applied for Raleigh. I have 4 people needing to file some type of document even some who need to file two or three different documents, so again we may not of made the VB list but, we were able to secure spots and all will be able to process their documents.

2. My wife likes to get out of the area and travel to new places and I thought this would be ideal.

3. My 15 yo stepson loves chicken and his favorite is Jollibee's. So, we are treating him to a big plate of Jollibees.
