Nope, you don't need to send any evidence regarding that.

The following is how one would acquire such document in WA State, and I imagine each state can do the same:

"Letter of Single Status

The Department of Health can provide you with a letter of single status if you are a Washington resident traveling to another country to get married.

What is a letter of single status?

It is a letter stating that you are not currently married to anyone in Washington State.

Why would I need a letter single status?

Before you can get married in some countries, they require a document stating you are not currently married. You should contact the country where you are getting married to find out if confirmation of single status is required..."

There's no "legal" or certified evidence you can provide if you've never been married, so no. I imagine the government can verify if someone is in fact married, when they say they aren't, anyway :P You only have to show evidence of situations like if you were previously married and are now divorced or widowed, such as a divorce decree.

**Well, according to the post above me, there IS a "certified" way to prove you aren't married. But still don't think it's required :)

Trying to prove a negative similar to that would be practically impossible...  Kind of reminds me of the one time I was asked to provide proof (many years ago) that I had not acquired citizenship anywhere else...

You should fill out your profile/timeline so we can best help you. We don't know if you are the petitioner or the beneficiary and which country you come from.

You will need to write a letter (both petitioner and beneficiary) saying that you are able to marry within 90 days of entry on a K1 visa

Some countries require you to show that you have not been married during the interview process - but not initially. Again, knowing which country you are from would help in this case.

It's not required for the K1. Some countries require it if you plan to marry within the country.

Yep.  I had to give my American tax returns for the previous year stating I was "single" in order to get married in Denmark.  We don't really have any other documentation for that purpose.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

But WA can only prove that you did not get married in WA. They would not be able to check the record of other states or countries. So that document would be pretty meaningless unless the person could somehow prove that for all of their adult life they never left WA for even a minute. And even that wouldn't prove there was no proxy marriage elsewhere!

All you can do is get an affidavit of singleness of all the States you’ve lived at that covers the legal age of marriage.

It’s the only legal document I found that can meet such requirement if required. If another country won’t accept it, then they do a lie detector test?

It's not that out there. Many countries issue certificates of marital status. If there's a centralized system for marriages in place, it makes sense. It's the same way you prove you've never been convicted.
