Hi Everyone -

My fiance went to the Mumbai Consulate for her K1 Fiance visa and got a 221G Request for Specific Information. In reviewing the request, I am unsure as to how to proceed as it looks more like request for someone coming on employment, student or tourist visa to the US. Has anyone seen this for fiance visas before? In addition, they also returned her passport - anyone know if that would require another interview visit or they will just ask for her passport to be mailed?

- Invitation: An invitation letter from Petitioner/sponsoring organization in the US. This letter should include your supervisor or advisor and details about your work.

- Resume: A detailed resume/CV including your professional academic background, 3 professional references, and a list of all your publications.

- Research: A complete and detailed description of 1) your past research 2) your current research 3) any research you intend to conduct in the US.

- Position: Your current job title and a full description of your work.

- Purpose: A detailed statement of the purpose of your visit to the US.

- Itinerary: An itinerary of all locations you will visit in the US, including dates, contact names, organizations, addresses and telephone numbers.

- Funding: Name of the person or organization who is funding your trip.

- Travelers: A list of all the travelers who will accompany you, including family members and colleagues.

- Travel: Dates and locations of all your international travel for the last ten years, except for US travel.

Appreciate any help you can provide!

Thanks..

Does your fiance had education/work experience that could be considered as one requiring security clearance? My only idea would be the embassy want to do background check on that - I think I once saw someone who had to provide documents like that because they use to work in some nucleral area.. For the purpose of US security or course. ;)
