No worries.

Yes, a US citizen with an American passport has a lot more freedom to travel to other countries than many other foreigners. There are a limited amount of countries that Dominicans can travel to visa free but, unfortunately, the US is not one of them. Since you are still learning the process, feel free to continue to ask questions and use the tools and guides on here to help educate yourself further.

Good luck to you.

Totally! I really love this website. We almost missed our window to renew my husband's work permit and thanks to someone here, we able to apply with plenty of time. Have a wonderful weekend.

Are they old enough to fly independently?

They are 12 and 13 years old. I was planning to visit them in DR and hopefully bringing them back with me for the summer.

So your husband has his EAD, but no Advance Parole?  I ask because almost everyone files for both at the same time when filing for AOS.  There is no down side because there is no fee when filed along with AOS.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes he has his EAD, it's expiring soon so we applied for renewal. We initially applied for both together but the AOS is still pending so we needed to renew his EAD.

You applied for EAD with AOS, but you didn't file for Advance Parole, correct?

Correct. We were advised to wait it out until we received his residency.
