This is a person that can walk from his home country to London and then drive all the way back by car. Speak 5 languages and have the experience of having been in 55 countries. If he can not have a tourist visa or immediate relative visa then a visa for people with special skills should be the way for him. Someone that can speak 5 languages can get a job and move anywhere.

What did the OP say that was so offensive UK friends?

He says that he lived near the beautiful Thames, but that he can't handle the UK weather.

Why is that so offensive? I know a lot of people who can't handle the Western European weather ( me included, and yes I know what to wear when it's to cold or rainy) that doesn't mean you don't appreciate the country. It's just no the place that makes you happy.

Or can former fugitive not have dreams, and hopes? And if they have, we tell them (sarcasmmodus on) to go back to Afghanistan ( sarcasmmodus off)

Although I found the post hard to read, I didn't read anything offensive towards the UK. And so what if he wants to move closer to his brother, is that a crime to have that dream?

I find it shocking how other posters react on this person and tell him to go back to Afghanistan.

Straightforward questions are easy to answer. No need to blame UK and its weather. FYI: I m not from UK.

I see a lot of helpful suggestions, no violations.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

OP,  Please seek counseling and medical care for depression.  Your spirit and health will improve with treatment.  You need not suffer when there are many options to improve your situation.

Also, I want to add to this valuable advice : let a doctor check your vitamin D levels. Alot of people with a tan ( even the slightest one) are prone to developing Vitamin D deficiency,

Most immigrants from places with more sunlight, often develop a defiency when they live in countries with less sun.

Rickets is a severe illness, and causes severe depression, affects parts of the body such as bones and muscles.

This is also good advice, especially since the NHS can test your levels at no extra cost to you. I'm embarrassingly pasty but as soon as my GP heard I had moved to the UK from Florida, she immediately ordered vitamin D level testing and sure enough! It really did help and vitamin D deficiency is pretty common in any northern place. Please see how the NHS can help you feel better since your family cannot presently sponsor you to immigrate to the US.

(And as an aside for those who are annoyed at UK complaints- I actually loved the weather in the UK! Granted, the northernmost place I lived was Sheffield but I found it better than FL since it was so rarely extreme in any direction and there's a lot more sunshine than people let on! I'm apparently in the minority but we do exist :) )
