Hi everyone,

Question for you- it's been 3 weeks since NVC got my k-1 file from USCIS, but still they're not able to give me my case# saying still not put in the system. Is this normal? How long it'll take for them to create a case#? they're saying it will take up to 8 weeks. Any advise on what I should do?

Thank you!

Thank you, Blenheim! According to the link above, at least i should have got my case# if not sent to the local embassy. I know it's depends on the country I have the process to, but looking at your timeline, you started your process exactly 2 weeks after me and I have yet to get my case# let alone an interview date. Anyway, I guess all have to do is just wait. Thank you for your help!!

you just need to wait, I waited almost 60 days before I got my case. Just wait the interview part is where things get a bit scary.

I guess I don't have any choice, but wait. I'm sure it's nerve racking.... did you go through with the interview already?

Yes my fiancé went and not a good outcome, so I am going back Anan forth with the embassy and also my congresses

I'm so sorry. I heard you can't re-appeal K1, but good luck. Hope you'll hear something good from them.  One of my friend was in the same boat, so he went back and got married. It's so painful!

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

for us it took 1 month from NVC to embassy in Addis Ababa but for some reason the medical exam for my fiance is going to take 9 weeks to get the results. extremely odd anybody else have that issue? Why?

I feel like the embassy is telling all agencies to hold off files (specially K1) from sending it to them. My file is till at NVC and it's been 3mo, yes you read that right.  May be try to go to a different doctor, if possible. Something is going on in US embassy in Addis, but not sure what tho. :(  Good luck!
