One morning a police officer stopped me and gave me 2 tickets one for street walking and one for obstruction of justice because I lied about my name when he asked my name . He didn’t arrest me which he should have, I can say I’m lucky he didn’t arrest me. I went and paid the tickets at the police station, both sum up to 75$.
Now I’m filing the form I-485 for adjustment of status , I know I should answer yes for the question 25 , 26 , 27 on the form because I got cited and I committed a crime and pleaded guilty because I went and paid the tickets . I know I should send USCIS the tickets the officer gave me with the receipt showing that I paid them.
Now I’m really worrying about the tickets I got especially the obstruction of justice one. I wonder if they will cause a problem to my adjustment of status process. Not to mention I never got arrested, detained , charged before for anything, the only thing I have on my record is those 2 tickets. And one time I call the police station where I paid the tickets, I inquired them about the tickets and they told me if I paid the tickets you won’t have them on your record unless you got arrested for them because they are municipal tickets.
