Ask your Employer to sponsor you or get married and adjust.

You cannot get a work visa in the US. Visas are for entering the country. To get a work visa (or working authorization in the US) in general:

As a Canadian, you may qualify for TN (NAFTA) status. This depends on the type of work you do and such, and you need a US employer.

Beyond that, you find an employer willing and able to petition for you, hope it gets approved, and then apply for the visa. Most of the work is done by the US company's team (usually an immigration lawyer). You must also meet certain requirements for various visas...lots to pick from, but maybe only a few (if any) pertain to your situation. https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/working-us

Alternatively, if/when you finally marry (and this is to a USC), you can file for AOS + AP + EAD. The EAD is the working authorization before the green card is approved. ETA: ~4 months for the EAD from filing.

Note that you cannot leave the US and then return with intent to stay / file for  AOS.

So if I get married and apply for a green card , I could get the EAD? And for that 4 months I would have to stay in the US??

And I couldn’t work during that 4 months?

Yes. If you file for AOS and leave before obtaining AP (or the green card) then the AOS will be deemed abandoned and you need to obtain a CR-1 visa abroad (~12-14 months).

You can work on your OPT until it expires, but not after that until you get an EAD or green card.
