This info is online :

For LA

You will be paid $15.00 a day beginning on the second day of service, plus $0.34 a mile one way, for mileage. The exception to this is a juror who is employed by a federal, state, or local government entity, or any other public entity as defined in California Code of Civil Procedures Section 481.200, and receives regular compensation and benefits while performing jury service. Jurors who are employed by such entities may not be paid pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedure Sec. 215.

Checks for jury service are computed at the completion of service and are mailed to you at your home address. Checks should be received within a few days after your completed service.

If you are serving on a case and are not required to report for a day or several days, you will not receive jury fees during this time.

Questions regarding jury checks should be directed to jury payroll staff at (213) 830-0498.

One of my employee had jury duty last week, and was selected for trial this week. They only pay $10/day in my State, but luckily our employer plays our employees when they have to serve.

As mentioned above:

"Juror Pay
California pays jurors $15 every day starting on the second day of service, except employees of governmental entities who receive full pay and benefits from their employers while on jury service. Because governmental employers already pay these jurors, the courts do not pay them an additional daily fee. All jurors receive at least 34 cents for each mile they travel to court. The mileage payment, only for one-way travel, also starts on the second day. Some courts may pay you what it costs to take mass transit or local transit agencies may provide free bus or rail transportation to court. Ask your local jury office for information about your court's payment process."

no one can tell you how long you will serve

here they summon a person for a 2 week time frame and some cases get dismissed but a case can go months if criminal case and you have to report for each day of court

so depends a lot on whether you are called for civil or crimianl court or grand jury

I became US citizen

do i have to stay 1 year from being us citizen to serve in jury duty?

Congrats on your naturalization! No, there's no amount of time you have to have been a citizen before you can serve on a jury; as long as you've taken the oath and gotten the certificate, you're good to go.

Hi, I have just returned from jury duty today.

If you are a citizen, then you need to follow the instructions in the summons to serve. If you have additional questions before appearing, you should call the number the summons provided. Every state and county is different in how they pay a juror or what the juror will do. Your summons should state what sort of juror you can potentially be (grand or trial). For my county they call us for one week. We are required to fill out the summons questionnaire and send it back within a few days.  We are also required to phone in every day from the start date to see if we are needed. If needed, you show up at the time and place and sit in a room until called. Today there was about 100 potential jurors, we were moved into a courtroom, presented the facts of the case before us, and then asked a series of questions. They instruct you along the way. If you answer 'yes' to some of the questions asked, you may be asked to discuss your answer before the judge. The attorneys may agree to place you on the jury or they may send you home. Being sent home in this state, however, doesn't mean your term for the week is up unless the judge says so. I was stricken from the jury pool today for this trial but am still required to check in every day to see if I'm still required.

Yes. You may be called again to serve in the future. Any citizen who is called must follow the instructions to serve, unless you have a valid reason to seek to be excused at that time, in which case you must communicate that through the official channels as described in the instructions.

Hold up. Do they know you are not a US Citizen? Make sure you don't serve as only USC can be on Jury's...
