I'm just sitting here, waiting for the Embassy to send us a confirmation they've received our documents from NVC. Anyone knows how long that takes (Ukraine)? I've heard 1 week, and i've also heard 2 and 4 weeks. I don't know what to believe :(

I'm aware that it says the average is 2-3 weeks, however, I was given information different by the actual agent at the NVC, hence my confusion and thus my question.

And my other question was about if it was possible to email them first. I read you can call and give them your email, but the agent said I couldn't do that until after 30 days. This is why I'm asking, because I'm confused.

NVC will always tell you “worst case scenario”, for lack of a better term.  Yes it can take 30 days, as you were told, or even 6 weeks for your case to arrive at NVC.  However as a forum of people who are all going through the same process, we have learned (by sharing our personal experiences with the process) that the average time seems to be about 2 to 3 weeks.  Of course some people have fallen on either side of that average, but it is just that, an average.  My case arrived at NVC in 22 days but I’ve seen others arrive in a week.  Every case is different.  There is no set time frame no matter what anyone, NVC or otherwise, tells you.

As far as them adding your email,  they are unable to do that until your case is in their database.  This is why the agent said you couldn’t add it until 30 days, because that’s the same timeframe he expected your case would take to arrive and be put into the database.  They have nothing to associate your email address with until your case arrives and is uploaded into their system. To be honest, 30 days is actually lower than what most of us were told.  Most of us heard up to 6 weeks to arrive and up to another 8 weeks for it to be assigned a case number.  Luckily, we’ve seen those numbers to be greatly exaggerated by NVC in most cases.  Again, there are exceptions.  If you’d like, you can send them an email to the email address listed on your NOA2 along with the information it states to include.  They will not reply to you until your case is entered into their system and sent to the Embassy but they will have your email address for when it is.  Alternatively, just keep calling everyday and update your email address over the phone once your case arrives and is put into their system.

I know there are a lot of pages to read through but this forum is a treasure trove of information.  I’ve personally found answers to questions I didn’t even know to ask and I definitely feel more prepared now because of it.  If you read through it in your spare time, I think you’ll find that to be true as well.  In the meantime, I hope this information helps you along in your journey.  :)

What do you mean by "received your case"
NVC will not contact you until they have sent your case to the embassy. They e-mail
But from those around here, that e-mail is typically delayed. which means they are not contacting you the day they send your case to the embassy but more like weeks after.

hence why it might make more sense for you to call them and get your number so you can track your own case.

Receive my form from the uscis

Just tried my second call of the day and was told their system for electronic cases is currently down!

Try again in a few minutes love.  I’m sure they will get it going again shortly otherwise they will be dealing with a ton of frustrated callers!  Poor saps.  Lol

My NOA2 was April 2nd online and March 30th on paper. Received electronically at NVC on the 27th. I’m really hoping to get our case # before the week is out...fingers crossed for us both!

Summer is almost here, emotions are in the air :)) I was approved NOA2 online (April,25 old site,April 26 new site, and April 24 hard copy) go figure which date should I start that countdown for NVC. I'm also so impatient. If it's April,24,than exactly 1 week have passed already. I know it's a bit early to call. I will call-attack them on next Wednesday most likely. It should normally take no more than 3-4 business days (including Saturday as a mail day) for correspondence to arrive from California to East Cost (NH). I got my NOA2 letter from USCIS on a 4th business day. It's either USCIS holding it or NVC has a stack of those, which they slowly process and enter in the system. Of course all of this could have been expedited. But what am I bragging about - we all had a rough 6 month or more wait....

I feel you :(

I think the hard copy date is what you go by. That's what I always tell them anyway. On average from what I have been seeing on here it's taking roughly 20ish days but a user on here earlier said they were an April 2nd NOA2 and still haven't got theirs soooo who knows. At least we won't have to wait as long as USCIS...at least that's what I continue telling myself. I'm April 12th/13th and haven't got mine yet.

Brittani, good to see you!!! I know you were approved just not so long before me.so I'm considering you as my "reference point" here :)) I probably checked in every profile here already...I hope nobody is against it haha, but I have the same source of information 2-3 weeks, where some are faster and some are not as lucky.I think this will be your week!!! Good luck!!!
