Even from other countries? WHERE YOU CAN GET A PC THEN YES OTHER COUNTRIES ARE REQUIRED.

i know about the one you get from where you live should be current but even for Philippines most people got it way earlier? EVEN PHILIPPINES Nvc site also explains it that way.and I believe for example john’s case too they received some of the pcs way before their interview date. HUS WAS 6 MONTHS AND 1 WEEK OLD. I THINK THEY LET HIM SLIDE.

Actually let me write better, it says “you are not required to renew the police certificate from previous country of residence if you haven’t travelled to that country after obtaining it”  I WOULD FOLLOW WHAT THE EMBASSY REQUIRES AS THEY MAKE THE DECISION NOT NVC.

and thanks yes I’ll be careful. 👍

Anyway its a bit confusing. For example, i've got police certificate from Ukraine (resident but dont live there) in sept 2017. Then i went there for a week in march 2018 to visit family. That means i need new one or i can stay with old one?

Check with your Embassy for their requirements. 2018 visit won't count.

Yes I've been through their instructions too.

Reason why I ask is I'm going to visit him soon and I was hoping to carry back the filled out I134, original intent to marry, his original Birth Certificate and Divorce Decree.

It's a scary thought to send them in the mail.

Sorry... I'm really not sure. You can try a Canadian thread maybe🤔... Maybe someone a bit further along could offer some insight ☺️

You need a new one. If you hadn't gone back it would be ok but you returned after a police certificate was granted. Think of it sort of like this... if you got a police report and left, the officials would say "he/she was here during this time and didn't commit any crimes, etc' but if you went back in March 2018,  they can't really comment on that...because the old certificate doesn't include that time .  ☺️You can always call your consulate as well for futher clarification. After all, they have the ultimate say. 😊

With the K-1, police clearance is not needed by NVC or USCIS in the States or during the NOA1 and 2 stage..

Police clearance is only for the embassy visa process... IF you have lived in a foreign country for 6 mos. or more from the age of 16 or older you will need to secure a police clearance from each of those countries.  If you have never lived anywhere but the but your home country a police clearance is not needed unless specified by your Embassy.

Follow the embassy instructions letter for what is required for the visa application process.

A short visit to any country does not require a PC.

My mistake... I thought the poster lived abroad for a period of time, obtained a police report from that country and then returned as a tourist. I lived in a foreign country for 3 years (Japan) hence my response as I needed one from Japan and also one for Canada as per the Montreal guidelines for my interview. For alot of foreign PC, it can take a long time to receive (2-3 months) which is why I think alot of people are getting them at the NOA2 stage. 😊

So I just called NVC and they told me I have to call back again and press 5.

Does this mean they have receive my case? They didn’t say anything about that...

Never mind, they received my case today! :)
