There is a good possibility you will receive a RFE and then you can correct the error. I recommend to everyone when you are filling out the documents, please let the other person proof read it for errors before submitting. Get a free on-line cloud account with Google drive and store all your documents there. This way you both have access to the documents and can proof read and make changes. During your journey if something gets lost or misplaced you can refer to your Google drive account. https://www.google.com/drive/

And here is a good place that will answer your question https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#8

They will direct your case to the appropriate Embassy for processing. You can double check once you receive your NVC case number. The first three letters of the case number will tell you also what Embassy you will process through.

Here is the P3 information: https://photos.state.gov/libraries/mumbai/1057584/senkx/BMB IV Packet 4 for Ks January 2015 Revision_001.pdf

Also under the tab at the top of this page is "portals" to which you select and then find your country. Here is Mumbi http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=India&cty=Mumbai

To better serve you when answering your question(s) can you complete your VJ Profile. To do so go to the upper right hand corner, select your name and under your name chose "my profile". Next under your picture you choose "Edit my Profile". Under profile settings scroll to the bottom of the page and you see two areas (Profile Information and Immigration Information) that accommodates vital additional information to help others in their reply to your question(s).  Without it this information, the replier may just move on and not share the answer because they have to "work" to get the needed information. [visa type and country/Embassy] The answer is sometimes predicated on that additional information. Their time is valuable.

Thank you so much @Greenbaum! I have updated my info as well and I appreciate your help and your time :)

Maybe I was mistaken to the intent of your post. Anyway, we both learned that you will be able to fix it once your case # is generated.

NVC is processing my case but I don't have the case# yet. I want to get started on the DS-160 (I'm the beneficiary). Does my fiance (petitioner) do this or me?

Either or can do this, taken me about 20 minutes to do this before

Hi! Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary? Just wondering if it's easier for one over the other... Are there more questions regarding the petitioner or beneficiary or half-half?

I'm the beneficiary most of the questions were for me but most of them were for silly security questions, i wasn't sure about the intended amount of time to stay so i just put 99 years :P

DS-160 Form is for the Beneficiary. Nevertheless, the Petitioner can fill it with the necessary Info. of the Beneficiary, but the Form MUST be signed by the Beneficiary.

Montreal 🙂 I'm on their website now reading the instructions regarding the Packet3. I'm writing my fiance an email now and just wondering if I'm missing anything

My fiance was in the US military and was honorably discharged. Do I need copies of his military records?

Also, where can I find more info regarding proof of petitioner's domicile in the US? Could he use a letter from his employer (he works for the Federal government)?

The DS-160 can be filled out by either. I the petitioner filled my wife (beneficiary at the time) DS-160 and then I saved to my Google Drive account and she accessed from the Philippines and went over it for spelling and to double check my entries. Once completed and we agreed it look correct and truthful, she was the one to "sign" and submit. I highly suggest you do the same.

You bring up a good question which can be answered by those who complete their VJ profile. Here are the instructions to complete yours and I recommend that @J❤️J does the same.

Thank you and good luck on your journey.

If you are following the P3 letter from your Embassy then I think you are well on your way. Here is the link if you don't have the pdf file.

You can get additional help in the sub-forum for Canada located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/

I recommend that you complete your profile so we can better answer your questions in the future. See instructions above. Good luck.
