I thought it was going to be 2 weeks it happened at 3... but I can see your impatience as they seem to go forward while you’re waiting...(and well it’s been almost a year now...)

I've checked our case and it's still showing 'At NVC' a week after we called and got the case #.

I'm guessing it's pointless calling and asking reasons why as they'll give us the "it takes X amount of weeks to process" line?

So my timeline if you need:

4/4 paper noa2

4/5 noa2 online

4/26 NVC received

4/27 NVC case number - at NVC

5/2  NVC in transit

5/7 embassy received - case ready (remember from 3-6 was also golden week so it can be less than this

5/15 case ready - date updated (this happened because we had to call so it may be a little off, but they also sent me the papers on this day, and every day this status updates with the recen date.)

5/17 packet3 in mail (however it would come on 5/16 but because I didn’t change my address and used post office forwarding it came one day late)

in the meantime;

NVC sends a mail with attachment when your case goes into transit. You can use that to take to your medical.

i believe it usually takes about 5 days (3 business days) for most Japan cases to be sent (case number to transit)

so so what I did: booked medical when I got the number for 5/15, got my results on 5/18.

They want you to send some things before interview. Packet3  usually arrives (if no problem with the post) 3 days to 12 days from what I’ve seen here.

it may depend on where you live :)

you can ask me whatever you need...I stalked every japan case here....

I don't know how to thank you, @Naes!!!! This is so sweet of you. I was kinda freaking out this past week. Thank you so much for your help and kindness. I'll be definitely sending you a message or tagging you here sometime soon. Thank you again. Hope your case is going as smooth as possible:)<3

It has been 4 weeks since my approval! And NVC has yet to receive my petition 😔 every time I call all they say is wait 6-8 wks. Now should I be concerned? I have seen others of the same country get everything done at NVC in 14 days (Noa2-case#) this is so damn frustrating.. Waited 7 months for a darn RFE then another 3 months to get approved this is ridiculous 😬🤔😔😏😠

Next time you call ask for a tier 2 agent. They can dig a little deeper as they have the authorization to do so where tier 1 can't access the information you desire based on what is happening at this time.

You're so sweet for checking in

I've been taking a break from VJ lately. Ya things are moving thankfully, I've got my medical scheduled for the 25th, unfortunately the Irish Embassy wont let me schedule my interview until I have my medical done so I have to hold out. Hoping for mid-late June interview and get my butt to the US in July :dancing:

Hi, we’re also going through the Dublin’s embassy, what’s it look like from after the embassy receives the case to interview time? They won’t let you sched now interview until after medical? My fiancée said she can’t schedule the medical until after she has the embassy appointment. Is it possible to schedule medical before embassy has the NVC file?

Thank you! Because at this point I do not know what to do, I am almost at a year mark. If I would've known minus well gotten married and done a spouse petition instead smdh. But on Monday I will seek answers as to why NVC has not received it in over 30 days.. It does not take this long to mail papers from the West to East 😠

My NVC# shows "Ready" at the embassy (manila) But I have not received any email with the NVC Letter, which is required to take the medical. I called the NVC and requested one be sent to me, they are sending me one but he said it will take a week to process....can anyone tell me if the manila medical exam will ask for the nvc letter? if so is there any way I can print this out now. otherwise my finacee could take her medical Monday, but now were waiting for this email of the nvc letter which could take a week. any help appreciated...

You don't need to wait for the NVC letter. All you need to do is check the CEAC status tracker https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV and you can screenshot the status of your case with your MNL case number. You can print it and St. Lukes will accept that. As long as you have you MNL case number,  you can proceed with scheduling your USEM visa interview and medical at St.Lukes.

BTW, I've seen a lot of people doing that when I went to St. Lukes last May 7 for my medical. Goodluck on your visa approval and medical. 😊

I have a question that maybe can't be answered by anyone on here but maybe you've read about it on here. Will POE be a problem if it's in another state? Atlanta airport is the closest to me but if my fiance flew London to Atlanta the price is ridiculously expensive. He was going to just do a lay over like maybe London to Boston then to Atlanta. Does officers look at this as suspicious? I'm probably over thinking this. Ever since his last visit I'm just nervous.

Thanks @Naes I'm seriously freaking myself out. I'm nervous about his interview next month even though I don't have anything to be nervous about. I guess because my fate lies in someone else's hands.
