I tracked it around 11pm South African Standard Time yesterday it was "At NVC" woke up today and tracked around 10am SAST and it was ready, well i think i deserved it because it took us almost 11 months to get NOA2 and we had no RFE.

Hi guys,

HELP!!!!!!

My fiancé has his interview scheduled for May the 24th and we want to make sure we have all our ducks in a row. In packet 4 it is stated that we need to take a copy of our NVC interview letter. Which letter is this? Is it the letter in packet 4 or is it the letter I received from NVC stating that they were now forwarding my case to the embassy in El Salvador and that the next step was scheduling my interview?

Thanks in advance! :D

@Daniel P How many days after seeing "ready" for visa status did the embassy email you packet 3?   thanks!

They emailed yesterday, 6 days after my case status changed to ready. I sent them all the documents the same day it changed though since I already had all the paperwork ready.

Thanks Daniel.  We have everything ready too.  I'll wait for Packet 3 just in case.  it really makes no difference for us because my fiance needs some followup medical appts for unrelated reasons.

ok good i will be waiting then.

I know it's said  1000's of time already but

please can you said approximately in how many days my case can left the NVC? it's not electronic  so i know that once it change to in transit i have to count 3 to 5 bussiness days.

thx

Non-electronic files normally take 5-10 business days. Some faster some slower.

Look at the top of the page here. See the tab that says "portals"? Select it and search for your Embassy. Most of the information there will help you to achieve your visa.

I filed out the DS-160 today,  then scheduled the interview before reading the below info on the packet 3.

A NOTICE OF READINESS MUST BE PROCESSED BY OUR OFFICE BEFORE AN APPOINTMENT IS SCHEUDLED. PLEASE DO NOT PAY ANY FEES OR REGISTER/BOOK ANY APPOINTMENT UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY THIS OFFICE. Please confirm receipt of this email as soon as possible.

The only appointment date available was exactly 2 months from today 17th of July 2018, nothing before & nothing after that date. I've called the embassy asking them would other appointment dates become available and they are no help, they keep telling me to follow the instructions (a bit late now).

Anyone have any ideas? Should I cancel the appointment date and continue on sending back the packet 3 in hopes other dates open up?

Don't cancel unless you need to. Right now your too early in the process to cancel that appointment. Besides, you have only 2 occurrences to cancel an appointment before you have to go to the back of the line and start over including paying all fees. Take a deep breath and trust the process. Read what they say and bring what they ask. Don't overthink this. Just follow their instructions.

It was emailed to my fiancé, so he should just print that letter, correct? He doesn't need to take the original letter or does he?

It didn't add up in my mind 60 days from today for the next appointment and no other dates available at all. Upon further research, it says the Dublin Embassy actually schedule the appointment for you, and that information comes via packet 4.

You seem to be well knowledgeable in this area; do you know if I can travel to the US one more time between now and my interview? I know on the DS-160 they ask for all entries to the US, which I have already submitted.

That can be touchy subject. I have heard some go with no problems others have problems (turned away at immigration) once they land in the US with immigration. I'd say hold off if you can. Why put yourself in situation that you can't control. Right now you are in control.

Doh—I too just experienced this evil little game that they like to play at the NVC which I’ve seen others post about...Asking me for beneficiary name, petitioner name, beneficiary date of birth, then telling me that there’s no case yet! Evil!! 🙃
