I had no idea, havent booked mine yet as im still in USA! Going to call them to book for late June - dont panic!!! Your NOA2 wont expire until August, just book the next available as soon as you can

So I called again for NVC case# 11AM EST 05/16 still not generated...ughhh. Like 10th time I called already during all those days of waiting - first time today I was asked last names and dob,than he asked the reason why am I calling? I said to check on case#. He paused me for a bit and than said it is till in the system waiting for the number to be generated. I said: why is this taking so long? I know other people who already received theirs pretty fast! Is this anyhow country specific? He said: No. It' just being in the system queue.... I think it is country specific, having a feeling about it. I observe things around and came to that conclusion.

Woohoo! Got my case # this morning through email. Email came at like 5am PST.

 

NOA#2: 4/18

Case Received: 5/07

Case # Assigned: 5/16

 

Case is currently in transit.

Got my case number about an hour ago via e-mail.

I sent an e-mail enquiry a week after my NOA2 and they followed up with an email when they received my case (05/14) and again when the case was assigned (05/16)

 

NOA2: 21 April 2018 (letter)/23 April 2018 (online)

NVC Received: 14 May 2018

Case No. Assigned: 16 May 2018

 

Case status is still "At NVC", but they just received it so I can't complain.

Finally filled out my DS-160 and paid for my visa fee though! It's feeling so real!  

 

Good luck to those still waiting for their case no./transits! Just a little longer!

even visa journey discussions i mean my country TOGO side, people just let the embassy review. nothing about yes we have been contacted after tis amount of time , we do this and this, nothing like that 

Trust the process.   You can submit the DS-160 at any time. The DS-160 is not tied to anything BUT THE INTERVIEW. DS-160 has nothing to do with USCIS nor with NVC it has to do with your interview. All you need is to print 4 copies of the confirmation page after you have submitted the document online and bring it to the interview. Hey if you want you can wait for the day before your interview to complete the DS-160. It's your choice.

 

So many of you are getting so twisted about what, when, how long and where. Most of you have gotten most of your questions answered with links to websites and they only thing you have to do is follow the HELP.  TRUST THE PROCESS!!!!

Some example questions would be:

 

What is the name of your fiancé/e?

Where did you meet?

When did you meet?

How did you meet?

When are you planning to get married?

What is your fiancé/es work?

Have you gone out of the country?

How long were you out of the country?

How many times has your fiancé/e visited you?

Where did you go when your fiancé/e visited you?

Do you plan to have kids?

Where do you plan on staying in the US?

 

These are some of the questions but rest assure that all the questions will be about the petitioner, the beneficiary, and the relationship. Always tell the truth even if the truth is "I don't know". Don't rush in answering and give a straightforward answer. Look the CO in the eye when answering and smile. Don't give a novel as your answer. Just brief and concise. Don't volunteer any information unless asked, this could send you down the wrong road and it might not end well.

 

Don't forget to ask if you passed.

@Naes do you remember the website where we follow this process until the end? It's similar to this site https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

 but it has your online USCIS account number :/ , I must have deleted it from my saved sites on accident

Good advise. I might point out that the NOA2 is good for one year. They say 4 months but that is just to get you to keep moving forward and that everyone doesn't wait to the last minute. Your Embassy can extend that and they usually do with 4 month increments till you max out.  Then it's to the back of the line and pay all over again while moving through what you just completed.
