I called. (As I understand it, NVC doesn't send any notifcation until the case has been created there and is "in transit" to the relevant embassy. I have been calling basically just for the peace of mind to know that my stuff actually made it there from USCIS. )

I see - thanks for the info! We have a lawyer that we’re going through but sometimes it’s nice to actually read and follow up on people’s stories that are actually going through it to see how their cases are going!

My fiancee called NVC again asking if they have sent out our case to the embassy. Unfortunately, he was told that our case is still with them and can’t give explanation as to why our case was not yet sent. Can someone please enlighten me on what’s going on?

Here’s my timeline.

NOA1: Oct 20,2017

NOA2: April 23,2018

NVC Received: May 9,2018

Case #: May 10,2018

Medical Examination: May 15,2018

Additional Medical Examination needed: May 31,2018

Scheduled Interview: June 1,2018

I'm trying to get ahead of things here and could use some advice on the I134 (Financial statement)

I'm a graduate student and my income is my fellowship (16.6k/year) and an additional Fellowship of 3 years (8k/year). I make an additional 3.3k for summer classes that I teach. My additional fellowship (the 8k/year) is 3 years long and I just finished my second year. I can have my graduate chair write a letter stating my fellowship and what I've made this year but summer employment is not always guaranteed (and he should be able to work by next summer anyway) and my 8k a year additional is only for one more year.

Will I be okay? My taxes for last year are filed and I made 26,506 and should make the same this year. How would you fill this form out in my case?

I find that every time I almost hit my breaking point, something good happens. I’m sure you’re about to get gold news!

@Naes,can I bother you with something here, please? I posted this earlier, but got no reply :(

I plan on sending documents to my fiancee back in Russia, and I wanted to know if I have to use mail carrier or can I email all of the documents to her (since most documents are copies anyway).
I also heard from one person here, that I can email all of the copies of documents, but not Affidavit Of Support and updated Letter of Intent (it has to be signed by hand). On the other hand my fiancee told me,she spoke to someone who told her that I can send all documents via email including Affidavit and Letter of Intent (signed). Could you please clarify on that one? I would really appreciate and always appreciate your knowledge and help!!!

I received an email this afternoon from the Montreal Consulate saying they have completed the review of  packet 3 (DS160, passport/biometric page and checklist) and am now ready to schedule an interview. I followed the links on the email they've sent me however on the Appointment Service website, after entering all my data,  I received a message stating that my immigrant visa case number is not yet ready to schedule... 🤔 It says ready everywhere else. Should I wait a day or so and try again? I've seen this issue happen to others in different threads on VJ but those posts were outdated (from 2006, etc). Have any other fellow Canucks had this issue recently? Or anyone else? 🇨🇦

Now I can’t clarify it as it may specifically depend on the embassy. And the postal system of the country.

I used original wet signature for I-134 because I already had it, but scanned copy for letter of intent cause it didn’t make sense to send it.

All other additional documents such as paystubs and tax returns were PDF anyway so I just printed out myself. Same with passport copies.
