Hi everyone... life has been crazy around here!  I am going to Denmark in a few days to see my fiance and bring him his paperwork for the interview, which will be on June 7.  We are travelling to the US on June 21 (yes we already bought the tickets and i am aware that's risky, thanks).

The last time we entered the US, we flew from Calgary, Canada in to Denver.  They actually did the interview and questioned him as if it were the POE in Calgary.  Our last flight before entering the US this time is from Vancouver, so I was wondering if any of you had any experience flying through Vancouver to enter the US.  I am hoping his interview will be at our final destination, and not have to be squeezed in on that layover.

Thanks!

I didn't mean it to sound ugly...sorry. It's just an expression here. You're very lucky.

I'm honestly scared something has happened with ours like it's been lost.

Hi! I have experience with this! There are several airports in Canada where you clear US customs in Canada (Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, etc). I passed through US customs at Vancouver airport on my way to Hawaii. The agents in Vancouver are all US Federal border security officers. It's normal to clear US customs in Canada. Hope this helps you! (I'm Canadian and I travel to the US often.. I always go through US customs here before I fly over to the States 🇺🇲🇨🇦)

@Naes, @Greenbaum

This is something I've been thinking about and I don't know if anyone is in the same situation so I'll post rather than sending you a private msg.

My petitioner maybe moving and changing jobs inbetween our NOA2 and the interview.

Filling out the I134 is going to be difficult as per his address and employer info until we know if the change will happen.

I am going to visit him next week and was wanting to collect the I134 rather than having him mail it to me as the signature needs to be "wet".

Do you think it's feasible that I just get him to print the signature page and sign the declaration on the I134, and then later when we find out info I can just print an "unoriginal" copy of the other pages?

It makes sense in my head but I don't want it to cause problems.

Also I'm going to get him to sign a post dated Letter of Intent for around the time of our interview so I have a wet signature copy of that too.

Thoughts? so I can clear my head of what I need to accomplish while I'm there...

Scanned copy is just fine. Uscis changed its signature guidelines and there’s nothing about a wet signature :) (note that this does not apply to petitions but I-134 is ok)

im trying to find the link to send but it’s 5:40 am... I’m already out and I still need sleep... but I’ll tag you when I find it :)

edit: found it! https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/ink-signature-no-longer-required-on-affidavits-of-support.html

Yay! Thanks @Naes

I'll ask one more question but answer me after you've slept silly woman. I'm in no rush.

What about the Letter of Intent. It still has to be a wet signature right?

24 minutes ago, Naes said:

Found this now too!

Uber enlightening on the new ruling on USCIS's former wet signature policy if (like me) not everyone was in the know:

I forgot to add that wherever you clear customs your interview will be there (this is Canadian-US specific, I'm not sure about other countries). I'm flying from Montreal to Vancouver to Hawaii so my interview will be in Vancouver with the US border security there. If I flew Montreal to Denver to Hawaii,  I would clear customs in Montreal. Hope this helps you! (If you miss your flight due to the interview, the airline will just put you on the next one - free of charge to you)

I know I’m trying not to worry but I can’t help it. All these others cases get there really quickly. Hopefully by next week. I’m happy for you though. That’s really exciting. Hope I can come on here soon with the same news!😊

^^^Yes most major airports in Canada have US BP clearance or at least pre clearance.

You will "cross the border" while still on Canadian soil. Vancouver airport is usually pretty quick though regardless if the line is out the door. 20 minutes or so?

Oh I know! I’m just stressed at this whole process but I would go ahead and file your DS-160 (my fiancé said it is a PAIN because it times out a lot) then look into scheduling your appointments.🙂
