hi good people, I have dumb question.

how do I know where is my NVC case process right now at ? will they update it through email ? new website ? or should I keep bugging them by calling xD

I check my status on new website but haven't changed yet from NOA 2 and it's been 20 days since NOA2.

Did you get the case no already? You can view its status on the website once you have the number.

There's a separate site where you check the status https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA== but this needs the case number.

Based on a few people's timeline here on VJ, they get their numbers 3-5 days after NVC received their cases. But I also saw some that took weeks.

The USCIS website wouldn't change anymore. You have to be working with the NVC website.

* You will call NVC for the case #.

* You can check the status via the website.

* When it changes to 'In Transit', the Petitioner will receive an email from NVC, consisting of info. including the case #.

* They received your case on May 10, I believe they've assigned a # to it. Call again.

The only reason to call is to get a case number to start working on the next steps. NOT all Embassy are set up that will allow you to do your medical and schedule your interview until they receive your case and THEY are ready to give you permission. I work with lots of ppl who process through the Philippine Embassy and once the beneficiary gets their case they can schedule interview, complete the medical and other required prep work saving about of processing time.

Now if your Embassy doesn't allow you to begin till they say to begin then its just a waste of time because you can't start the process to shave off a month in processing time. So you are calling to get something you may not use for another month and will come to you in the form of an email.

Yes just like US Embassy here in South Africa, i have my case number already on the 10th of this month from NVC but i can't do anything until i hear from my consulate here in Johannesburg, South Africa then i can go further. :( All i know is latest by next month i should have my interview and medicals done. US Embassy here is mostly empty so as at today (Tuesday) i can still schedule interview for Thursday or Friday lol... This site says what i need before i can even do medicals here in South Africa http://www.usimmigrationmedicals.co.za there is no waiver lol
