19 days and still no news from NVC but this time the guy said 6 weeks is the absolute maximum amount of time it should take to get in their system.

Hope it doesn't take that long, will keep calling every day!!

Wow! That's extremely unfortunate. That's the best you can do for now I think. Just keep calling.

What to do after NOA2:

Spoiler

After USCIS approves the petition, it is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will assign you a case number and send your petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your fiancé(e) lives.

The NVC will mail/email you a letter when it sends your fiancé(e) case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Once you receive this letter, inform your fiancé(e) to take the below-listed actions to apply for a K-1 visa and prepare for the interview.

That's the standard timeline they give everyone. You should be getting your case number within the next few days so just call them once a day or every 2 days.

Maybe he was new? Or just not paying attention. He's only human of course :D. I also made sure to call in the night to give them time to update the cases during the day.

Will the US embassy accept a foreign police report that is 1year and a few weeks old (technically expired)? I lived in Japan from 2009-2011 . I haven't been back since. I received my police report in May 2017 (I didn't realize the whole K1 process would take this long). I received my NOA 2 on April 2 2018. Maybe, just maybe I will have my interview before the police report expires... May 18 2018.

I went to the Japanese consulate in Canada today and was informed I have to surrender my current police report if I want to start a new one. I can't keep the old one while I wait for the new one to arrive. The man I spoke with informed me it could take 2-3 months to receive a new one? Any ideas???

They can only see the old website that’s why they have no clue when it is a silent noa2 but call they will give you the number when they have it either way

Maybe, ask the embassy. Normally they do if you didn’t return to that country. But it may also be risky.

Not sure but, from what I’ve seen, if a case is digital they sometimes don’t tell it’s received or give the number unless it is ready in the system.
