I have a really dumb question, I heard from a friend that someone she knows is claiming to have acquired US citizenship months only after getting married to a USC, is there anyway something like this is possible? Don't they have to wait 3 yrs before being eligible to be a USC? Maybe this person is just giving incorrect info or might've said the wrong thing. @Greenbaum @Naes

@mayangjebjeb17   As a green card holder married to a U.S. citizen, a foreign national must wait three years before being eligible for naturalization.  However, a naturalization applicant can apply for naturalization 3 months before becoming eligible for naturalization. I hope that answers your question.

Guys this is a huge question that has been weighing on my mind. My fiancee's parents are living in the US undocumented. I don't know how he should respond if they ask him. We honestly don't want to lie. We also are worried it could potentially cause the denial of his visa.

Your application for a visa stands on it's own. BUT, if asked about your parents (I am really doubtful that will be asked) then you'll have to be honest. Expect that they will have some immigration problems themselves if that were to happen but for you no it has no baring on you. Please don't be the first one to bring that subject to any agent. Let it be asked the respond honestly.  The old saying "let sleeping dogs lie" is appropriate here.

Please speak with an immigration lawyer.  This is very serious.

You suggest they talk to an immigration attorney. Can you share your thought process? Is it to help their parents to become legal? Is it to help them figure out what to do? Just curious. Thanks

Hey everyone, I need some help/advice. I basically just lost my cool because yesterday I called 2 times & both times I was told that my case had finally been received, this time, I call 2 times (once pressing 7 and once pressing 9) and Daffnie told me there isn’t a single trace of one case anywhere. I think they should figure out what to do. The fact that his parents are here illegally might be an issue. But if you feel like you have enough VJ credits by all means offer your advice. Thanks.

Quick question guys, my fiancé in the states has lost the copies she made of the documents from the first petition, is this likely to be an issue for my interview?? Thanks!

What do you mean when you say "first petition"? Did she receive another visa before this one?

Sorry I could have worded that better, what I meant was she’s lost the photocopies of all the documents from our I-129F packet & evidence

They already have everything. You just need to fulfill the consulate requirements.

Such as affidavit of support, evidence of your relationship, birth certificates, passport, two passport sized photos, police certificate and so on.

I don’t even know what is at 9?

ive never called 9 and possible that they don’t see it in the system.

my opinion: ignore, wait, call again

as cases reappear in NVC 🤷‍♀️

Believe me mine reappeared in a minute...
