Medical examination are not by appointment, you can pick the days that are convenient to you and make sure you register online at http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/ as you will need to bring the registration form with you when you go in for your med exam (this is valid only for one month). You can schedule your interview at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ and payment options are available there as well. Make sure that your case status is ready before paying the fee (screenshot a pic of your ready status in case they ask for it), you may wait about 6hrs. to next business day after payment before scheduling an interview. ;)

Schedule interview at least 3 days after your med exam (the earliest) or if you prefer a later time. Good luck!

Your information is spot on except that you stated that the case needs to be in ready status prior to paying the MVR fee which is not completely accurate. Once you receive your case number you can begin to do everything that's needed in the Philippines. No agency, connected to the process requires your case to be in ready mode. You can even book your interview while your record is still at NVC but on its way out the door as long as you have a case number.

Why do we have to wait for the case to be “ready” before we pay? I read that you can pay right away when you aready have a case number.

Well what you read is correct. That is what happens when you read what other "first timers" are telling you and lately I have seen a good amount of confusion being created on when you can and cannot do the scheduling of appointments or paying fees or when is it the best time to file this form or that form.

THIS IS INFORMATION FOR OTHERS WHO ARE PROCESSING IN THE PHILIPPINES and not meant to single anyone out. Please understand this.

Early on I gave many of you that are processing through the Philippines a wealth of information that is VERY VERY VERY accurate from this website HERE  The author has helped thousands of people go through the same process that you are over the past 10 years. He knows what he is talking about. You couldn't hire an attorney and get this kind of information and help AND all you have to do is start from the top of the page and follow the steps through each of the pages.

So why don't you'll entertain the thought that maybe, just maybe the information there could help you. I place my reputation on the information, as he and I converse back and forth on what changes take place and updates are made and are communicated to those like yourself who are walking down the same road that he and I both did. We are in touch with many in the Philippine sub-forum who are facing what you are and we stay in touch and listen to what is going on out there so that we can save you the headaches of not knowing what to do. I have been exactly where you are and I know how daunting this process is when you have never traveled this road before. It's stressful, it's scary but in the end, if you have accomplished everything without error, you'll have your love one at your side here in these United States.

And yes MILDRED I sometimes make mistakes but I will own up and update my sources. Your help is always appreciated. I'm here to help you if you want to reach out to me either here on this forum, in the Philippines sub-forum or PM me.

Good luck to all you and you will get through this. :D

🤔 since we are talking about requirements, ive had all the papers ready since march. So, my letter from the company and affidavit of support is dated around 2nd week of march and then the pay slip i sent were only up to that month too, i sent them all last week of march. should i worry about that? coz dates are going to be pretty far now from the expected date of interview appointment. should i resend them with in the most recent date.

It's better to have your documents as fresh as you can closer to your interview.  It just eliminates any problems that could come up at the interview. There is no written rule about the dates for those documents but knowing what the CO looks at I can say it's better to error on the safe side then leave it to chance.

No need to wait. Once you have the case number you can complete the ds160. The case number is not needed for this form.

Receipt number is on your NOA1 upper right hand corner. Check with your Embassy for what is needed for the medical as each is different.

I’m curious about what the lag time is between when people call NVC to find out if their case has been received, and when those same people receive official notification of case receipt?

There no case receipt from NVC, but a notification with the number when it gets to “in transit”.

The mail arrived almost instantly when my case got “in transit”

from case received to in transit though, may differ case by case, embassy by embassy basis

We are still waiting for our case to be received by NVC,but we decided to start filling out DS-160 today. Partially done. Or are we doing it too early?
