Great news! How did you hear about your case being ready at Mtl?

Once you're assigned a case number by the NVC you can check the status here.  It should say either At NVC, In Transit, or Ready.

I want to schedule my medical appointment as soon as possible, but im on antibiotics for the common cold. Anyone know if that will affect the results for the immigration medical check up?

You schedule the interview already? Did the embassy sent you a letter to your house already?

Hi everyone, quick question!

I potentially have the opportunity to take a job in Puerto Rico the late part of this summer and into the fall, but I am concerned that it may affect the whole process for us when we submit the adjustment of status and moving forward... I know that Puerto Rico is a US territory and US citizens don't even need a passport to go, and from everything I read, people can visit there during the time between K1 and green card, but does anyone know if it would be okay for my fiance to stay with me there for several months or up to a year while he is waiting for AOS??

My fiance is from Puerto Rico but lives in Miami. And as i know you can not go to PR while you waiting for AOS,at least you will get AP. Puerto Rico is a territory of USA, but you can not travel with K1 visa there without AOS or AP.

Oh bummer... Mines still in transit. Once it says ready, do you have to wait for Mtl to give you the green light to send Packet3 to their email? I've read online they will sometimes return it to the sender if they don't ask for it first?

Yeah, supposedly you're supposed to wait for them to send you Packet 3 but I emailed it in anyhow.  Figured it can't hurt even if they send the standard email back saying I'm not required to submit it yet.  I heard it can take forever for them to send Packet 3 :unsure:

I hope it speeds along - for us both! 😊 Thanks for the info

UPDATE

Case finally In Transit!!

  • NOA1: 10/16
  • NOA2: 4/12
  • NVC received: 5/2
  • Case # assigned: 5/4
  • In Transit: 5/8

(Electronic case)

@Brittani you're next :)

Hi @Daniel P, what's the time difference between an electronic case and a regular paper case? I assume there is no way to tell whether it's electronic or paper before getting assigned an NVC number....
