Question about the DS-160....

It ask a question about has anyone ever petitioned you for an immigrant visa before? I told my fiance to put no because no one has before now...is that correct?

And is it a huge deal about the date he puts for plan to travel? He was going to put like July 1st, 2018 just so it doesn't seemed rushed.

I suggest he put none. Since they always say get visa first before travel plans and also to avoid more questions at the interview based on if you ticked yes

I was about to say...I don't think that's even an option...

I'd like him here by June but just because we don't want to seem rushy I told him to put July.

It won’t matter. You can’t even see your appointments before submitting it. Just put what you would like in your timeline like a few days after possible interview.

they are aware you may not make it.

It also wont have any affect on when you need to do entry. K1 will still be valid from issue date until 6 month after your medical.

I learnt that they send with postal service in japan and Japanese post automatically(cause I registered) brings mail that go to my old address to my new one.

i tried to change but embassy told me to do it at NVC. Whatever I ask they didn’t help me with anything, I am starting to believe embassy reactions are really connected with the culture around them... cause it was soo Japanese.

Anyway so I didn’t, I’m waiting to see if it will reach me or not.

The answer to "has anyone ever petitioned you for an immigrant visa before?" The answer is no if you have not done so in the past.

The date to travel is only a guesstimate date as at this point you have no idea if 1. you have been approved and 2. the date you choose to travel most typically is tied to what the ticket price is at the time (most of us this is a concern) and her readiness is to travel. Do your best to guess the date she would travel. This is not a big deal and will not prevent you from receiving an approval.

Where did it come up?? I'm seriously going crazy thinking I missed something! I did it all over again and its not around.. was it with the other yes no questions?

That question where you put intended date of arrival. If you choose yes its asking you date, flight, and city or arrival. If yes its asking you random date when you thinking you will arrive.

Thanks!!!

That's exactly what we thought as well about both answers.

You are probably not aware of this but when we were processing my wife's visa (4.5 years ago) just a month before her interview USCIS designed the DS-160 form to replace THREE, yes I said three :D other forms that were required at the time. So when we completed the new DS-160 form it was like a page or two where now you have witness a number of machinations of the DS-160 to what it is today. No, it hasn't gotten less confusing only asking more stupid questions that have really no baring on what that information will tell the CO.  Stay strong. Your over the hump and going down hill to the finish line.
