I am also under 5, case was received on 2nd. Hope number will come soon.

Whoa, your NOA2 is April,27 and NVC received it May,2 already?? Your NOA1 to NOA2 journey was much faster than for the rest of us here. Was it expedited by any chance and is it expedited now, or it's just pure luck? :)

Hi everyone! Does anyone know how long it’s taking on average to have the case completed after it’s received by NVC

And how long does it take to have the case number after NVC received the case?

Case completed is a term of ir1/cr1. Are you waiting for a k1?

if it’s k1 as this is k1 topic after NVC gives you the case number it takes on average 1 week, although depending on which system your case is, it can be 1 day to 2 week

Yep. You haven't filled out the DS-160 yet?

I did. As I said I didn’t realize they even asked this question.

it was irrelevant, so I probably didn’t even think twice. But then I just redid ds-160 and it didn’t ask.. all it asked is the type and then it just asked purpose of trip and when I chose fiancé, it only asks for wac number and intended date of arrival.

so yeah I didn’t even realize they ask that question or even where in the form it is.

This one came up for me too, but I think you already answered your own question. You have not made any specific plans because you can’t because you’re not approved yet. So check no ☺️ That’s what I did and I was fine at the interview.

Where did it come up?? I'm seriously going crazy thinking I missed something! I did it all over again and its not around.. was it with the other yes no questions?

I don't know. I called to NVC and they told me that they received my case but it is still not in their system. I have no idea what it means

You check NO as you have not made an concrete plans with tickets etc purchased as you are not yet approved. Also, most Embassy and USCIS will tell you the following:

Do not finalize arrangements for travel to the United States, dispose of property, or resign from your job until a visa has been issued and delivered to you. Generally, a single-entry fiancé(e) (K1) nonimmigrant visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance, unless its validity is limited by medical or other restrictions.

If you do a Google search (do not finalize arrangements for travel visa) you will find most if not all Embassy's state this in their P3 packet or on their website.

Can we submit the DS-160 when our case is in transit or do we wait until it says ready?

You can complete the DS-160 at anytime once you have your NOA2. When you complete and submit the DS form be sure to print off a couple of page with the bar code as you will need one for the Interview and some Medical facilities but not all require a copy also (SLEC in The Philippines requires it on the day of vaccinations).

Wait, so you filled out the form and it didn't force you to fill out 'date of arrival'? Because on ours it forced us to put something in the box

Date of arrival yes but it didn't ask anything about travel plans. the moment I chose fiance visa the form changes and only shows date of arrival.

So I really didn't see that specific question...

Question about the DS-160....

It ask a question about has anyone ever petitioned you for an immigrant visa before? I told my fiance to put no because no one has before now...is that correct?

And is it a huge deal about the date he puts for plan to travel? He was going to put like July 1st, 2018 just so it doesn't seemed rushed.
