Is this 6 months in a single visit or 6 months cumulative (broken into smaller trips over the course of a year/years)? I have emailed the embassy about this and didn't receive a straight answer. Also, by "live in" would that mean taking up residence or just being there as a tourist? I feel like the answer is probably 6 months straight in any capacity (student, work, resident, etc). Thoughts? For us Canadians this is a little bit of a grey zone as some ppl cross the border to vacation for extended periods of time (4 winter months and a 1 month summer with a couple random business trips in there). What do you think?

6 months continuous. In and out for short/long periods doesn't count toward 6 months.

Can I schedule interview and medical now? coz ive read from CEAC website to wait for instruction and stuff. What to do next actually if i have MNL#. anyone can enlighten me please

:wow:Yes you can schedule your medical after you have scheduled your interview. BUT there is a document that SLEC requires. Do you know what document that is?

I gave you a link to a step step guide including a link to the sub forum for the Philippines just for these kind of questions.

Quick question. I am the petitioner and for the visa application in fiancé's country we can pay $265 either cash or debit. Can I use my debit card and pay for it from the U.S???

Well we got our case number, filled out DS160, went to create an account on the Sweden embassy website to pay fees and schedule an appointment, and there was an error that said "please make sure the name you entered matches the name on your passport."  We tried all the different variations of his name and it didn't work, so i am assuming he must already have an account from when he applied for a tourist visa last year.  The "forgot password" link which is supposed to send an email to him with a new temporary password is not working either, so now we have to wait until Monday to call the embassy.  I am getting reaaally tired of all of this lol, but at least ill be going to see him in 2 weeks!

@stat I tried going to that website just now but it says  "Invalid Application ID or Case Number"? what does that mean? do i have to make a profile?

@stat  isn't it odd that we would need to select "immigrant" for a non-immigrant visa? I thought I-129f was considered a non-immigrant visa (at least that's what it tells me on the site....https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html)

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 even though it truly is a non immigrant visa requiring I-134. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant. It stays that way until after approval from your Embassy and ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non -immigrant. It truly is a non immigrant visa with immigrant intent

i remember that 🤔 if im not mistaken i would need the receipt of the payment from BPI, Confirmation of appointment, record of vaccinations if there is. but im wondering if it still says “at NVC” isn’t it too early to schedule appointment. Shouldn’t i wait for it to state “ready”?

hi guys! is there a "best time" to have the medical examination done? we just received NOA2 and I'm assuming we have to wait for NVC before it can be scheduled, but can that be done basically at any point before the interview?

Start here to understand what is needed. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Belgium&cty=Brussels Others are here to help at your country's portal. Use the blue ribbon at the top of the page and select "portals" and then search for your Embassy. So much information. Just need to do a little work getting to it. Your Embassy's website is another place to look and Googgle is your best friend.

Ah, thank you for this info! I was confused about the info regarding I-864 because I was like 99% sure we only need I-134. Thanks!!!

The first thing that the page you will land on when you use the link states:

NOW THAT YOU HAVE YOUR MNL #
(don't need to wait for the letter from the embassy )

It  Is ROCK n ROLL Time!

So the answer is? Confirmation of appointment

The question would be better direct to the Embassy or the bank where you are to pay your fees. Have you received packet 3 with all your document requirements? It would be listed there. Have you tried Google? Each Embassy is different so others may not be able to answer.

Go to page 101 and scroll down to a reply that I sent to you as well as three other Philippine couples who are at the same place you are, lots of questions.  I gave you a link to the Philippines sub-forum and to a great step by step guide that will answer your questions. You ask for help and gave  you the information but you don't use it. oiy vay! Two of you from that reply continue to ask questions here and not over in the Filipino sub-forum or use the link I gave you. It's frustrating to us who try to help and you don't want to do the work.

I’ve read that link you sent way back before and if there’s something that could help me analyze my situation then i wouldn’t ask anymore. that website says “When you get the letter from NVC stating the MNL #, scan and email a copy to your fiancee to bring to St. Luke's.  Or simply forward the email from NVC with the MNL # to your fiancee.” but the thing is that i haven’t received a letter yet coz i just called to ask for the number. So for me it can be a different situation coz there’s nothing to scan or send. Also, there are other websites that we consider as a reference too and not just the website or link that you sent. others say that you’ll have to check the case status first. Im sorry if you keep repeating. wont ask anymore. it’s just weird that you’d rather reply long sarcastic messages instead of directly answering coz that would be shorter. after all you repeat your sarcasm anyway in every response you give here. I never intend to be rude towards anyone here on this website or on this forum coz ive been here in a while too and experienced to help others who doesn’t understand some certain situation even if they’ve asked too many times already, coz thats the purpose of the forum. Some people might not be as wise as others who were able to remember which page they’re going to look back into or which link they’re gonna save or use as a reference and so we ask generally hoping someoneone with the same situation could answer us or more likely someone with better understanding and patience. if you get frustrated, honestly you don’t have to answer and you are not forced by anyone to answer it, we don’t either complain if no one answers. I apologize in advance if i’m rambling or rude but you are actually rude in a sarcastic way as well. i hope you understand. the links were helpful but it’s better to talk to a real person who experienced it or at least has the same situation. and i sincerely thank you coz you’ve helped a lot

@sillyali  i don't really recommend to booked an interview if it's still at 'NVC' but as long as it's in transit you can start paying the fee then booked your appointment. In my experience it was only 2 days after it says its stil 'at nvc' then transit, and then the day after it says 'ready' so it was kinda fast. by booking yes you nees the receipt of the bank and the mnl# only. dont worry about not getting email with your mnl # yet as it will will come eventually. i think it is best that you will booked everthing once it says 'in transit' ☺️
