I cannot for the life of me get my photo to upload on the DS160. I've even gone into Adobe and MEASURED my photo and all measurements are correct as per the requirements! I just don't know what else to do.

Has anyone else submitted the application without a photo and just taken one with them like it advises? I wondered if there would be any issues with me doing this..?

Measurements are one thing. Make sure the file size is appropriate too.

It's 95.3 KB and they say 240 KB or under. It meets the measurement requirements.. it just comes up saying it is poor quality which I don't know how it can be when it was taken in a photo booth with a white background etc.

I don't know what else to do.

Try to use an app and have it resized. I had the same problem before when getting my Police Clearance. I just only downloaded an app and resized it.

Did someone who is a professional in passport photos do it? Try to consider the light. And the clear white background.

One thing also. Are using mobile phone while doing your DS-160 or are you using a desktop computer?

If it helps, I used Microsoft Office Lens (which is free) to take a photo of my actual passport photo, then used Google Photos' auto-adjust to tidy up the contrast/lighting. Worked a treat each of the 4 times I had to restart the process due to timeouts.

You guys are brilliant.

@ShyLucy I've downloaded Image Size and tried that but it still won't let me upload! It's within measurement and size requirements and I've adjusted brightness etc but it says the quality is poor. Which it is, to be fair. But why is the quality poor when the picture itself is perfect? :(

I'm going to try Office Lens later, thank you! So in theory I could just this to take a picture of the passport photos I had taken (specifically for the DS160!) and play around with brightness etc and hopefully this will work?!

Absolutely, that's exactly what I did as I don't have a scanner.

I took a picture of my passport photo on my phone and i think i brightened it a little and it worked. It didn't accept it the first few times but after maybe 3 tries of uploading it actually accepted it.
