Is ok. I have it from saving my salary few years. My bf wants to do it himself (to pay my trip). Beside I cant withdrawing my deposit anytime I want. Any further suggestion for this case ?

Pay for your trip yourself. Build good credit rating by having credit card from reputable bank with limit starting from IDR 20 mio. Show good flow of transaction with your bank account, unlike deposit, show you have liquid assets where you can use for paying for what you need, have no outstanding debts. Travel the world and come back to Indo. CO doesn't care your bf loves you and want to pay for everything for you. From what you told us it shows you don't have very strong ties to indonesia

Don’t be too disappointed if they deny you.  My wife had a house, job, and a previous trip to Australia and still got denied (Jakarta)

You need to really focus on and highlight your ties to and assets at home.  I believe my letter and income hurt, not helped, us but that’s just my opinion.  I think you should plan to show that you can pay for that trip and you should also include travel health insurance in your itinerary plans.

If your BF reimburses or ends up booking the trip for you that’s your business.  The best chances of approval that I have seen from Indo are stand-alone applications by independent applicants.  You are travelling to visit your boyfriend and that’s the application purpose in a nutshell.  Your ABILITY to pay for it and support yourself is based on your individual situation. Your ties include job, family, assets and stand on their merits.

Personal relationship information beyond that is really not applicable to a B visa.

Good luck!

Refusal rate for US embassy in Jakarta is quite low. Only 10.99% of B visa application is refused. As long as you can prove you have strong ties to Indonesia and honest with CO, plus you've been to some other countries with strict visa application (EU, UK etc) without overstaying then you have a strong case. Good luck!

True, but I suspect that is due to not many Indonesians applying, and those who do are pretty certain to get the visa.

Anyway, OP, to answer your question:

1. Be honest, say you're going to visit your bf.

2. No. As others have said, it is pointless.

3. My only suggestion is you might want to say you're going to visit for 1 week instead of 2. Why? It's cheaper, and I think 2 week vacations aren't that common in Indonesia (but I could be wrong about that). And as others have said, having tourists visas from other places could help.

And just curious- are you from East Java? Just asking since you're planning to go to the Surabaya consulate.

Good luck!

Cool. I have been there a couple times (including once to the US consulate). My wife is from Malang.

I hope your bf understands that the odds of you getting a visa are not in your favor. My wife wasn't able to get a tourist visa (prior to us being married), but she also didn't have savings at the time and was self-employed. Her foreign travel was similar to yours (Singapore plus Hong Kong).

From my experience, strong ties to your country is the most important. I did not show any paper of any kind. I just answered all of the CO's questions honestly. His questions revolved around my work, income, my degree,  who I am visiting in the US, my relationship with the person, their job. I was also asked about my travel experience--what countries I have traveled to outside my country. I was 26 when I applied for the tourist visa. Do not buy a plane ticket yet before you have your visa on hand. There is no assurance for a visa approval but there is no harm in trying!

Hope that helps!

So FYI, my wife was denied a tourist visa when she wanted to visit me around the holidays in 2014.  She had a job at a prestigious law firm as a lawyer, adequate savings and strong ties to return.  The issue came in when they asked how the trip will be funded.  She stated, "my bf will pay for the trip".  Instant denial.  ABSOLUTELY PAY FOR THE TRIP YOURSELF AND MAKE NO MENTION OF HIM PAYING FOR ANYTHING OR YOU WILL BE DENIED.  It didn't matter that she traveled internationally for work and pleasure multiple times across the EU and Asia.  She was in a similar situation to yours too.  Lived at home with family, same age, etc.  In the end she did get to come be with me, but having to wait because of no tourist visa is a pain in the ###.  I ended up going over there a second time instead due to her getting screwed over.

Additional note: finally having tourist visa won't make you automatically granted the entry. Without sufficient funds in hands, be it in cash or credit card for however your trip is planned (eg. Proof that you can afford the hotel here for the length of your stay. That's why one week is cheaper than two weeks) and two way ticket, the CBP might deny your entry and your visa is automatically void.

I'm lucky I got the visa because I worked for US government and was invited by them. The visa renewal was also hassle free. My multiple trips there were also paid by myself and I can show them I have strong ties to Indonesia and I have no record of overstaying in any countries I visited. Even during my K-1 visa application, I could visit my fiance and stayed for three weeks.
