Hello April fillers!

any guess on when our approvals will start? starting of October or at the end of October? I received my Noa1 on 12th April

I will guess about 2 more weeks and the second half of the month for March filers will start getting action.

The time of year you applied is a slow one, so they are getting caught up. Come June-July filiers they will be bogged down again, busiest time of the year for k-1 apps.

2nd half of Feb is getting action now and first half of March is also seeing action.

hahah I'm a dummy, forgot about March, middle to end of Oct for April first half (means those that filed before April 15ish)

Hey all,

Do the police certificates have to be acquired after we get NOA2, or can you get them earlier in preparation?

Really starting to feel the distance now, it's horrible! luckily i have my trip to the USA booked for a week on monday to tide us over, but still. Thank god for the internet!

Hi All

I am sure there is an answer for this somewhere, so if it's easier to refer me to a link then please do send it across. As we should start seeing some NOA2 in early October, I was wondering if anyone had a list of all things we can be doing to prepare? I want to get as much done as possible before the notice comes. Also, how long after NOA2 would the medical usually be? I'm off to San Diego next week to see the mrs, so bloody excited!

Hope you're all getting through it

Hi which country do you live in?

Apparently about 2- 3 months to get to the medical in the 🇬🇧 UK.

Before NOA2 we can do the following.

police report

ds160 if expecting up to 3 months before

put together evidence of visits and relationships

get vaccinations done.

get vaccination records

speak to Doctors about medical reports and get them done up to 5-6 months max before interview.

get household contract end dates and let them terminate so you don’t have to pay early termination fees before going.

start to sell small Home items you don’t need. Remember all power items won’t work in the us due to different electric currents.

look up who you have to inform and tax and pension arrangements before leaving.

if you have pets look into relocating arrangements  or rehoming.

read up on country specific forums here.

Thank you so much - very helpful.

I am also in the UK, 2-3 months is definitely longer than I was hoping for :( . I will keep myself busy and start getting all those things together

You are welcome!!

If you keep an eye on the uk forum here you’ll see current wait times for medicals they vary frequently by quite a lot! Could be a lot shorter. Let’s hope as our Noa1 date is April 25 😰

uk forum has uselful info on who you need to inform like local authority and tax office think it’s a p85 we need to fill in.

ive been reading there a lot lately

To piggy-back on what was already suggested - I definitely recommend making sure you have your needed vaccines, and if not getting those done as soon as you can - a couple of them require multiple doses that need to be spread out like 6 weeks. I've read it just ends up being a pain in the butt if you wait to do them at your medical and/or before AOS in the U.S.

Also, some countries police certificates can take a while so check on the ones you need and how long they might take to get a hold of.

For the petitioner, check on I-134 support docs like letters from the bank - those can sometimes take a long time as well.

Keep up to date on ongoing relationship proof in the case they ask for more at the interview - and this is also good to get ahead of for future AOS support anyway.
