Hi Guys

Hope you're all doing well. 90 days before my 2 year green card was to expire, we mailed our paperwork. We know it got to USCIS because Fedex confirmed, but we never received a receipt number. The 90 days ends March 12 (as does my green card), so i'm starting to get a bit nervous.

What does everyone recommend?

Thanks

Hey long time no speak!!  Did they cash your cheque?  Contact uscis to check  let us know how it goes.

would be lovely to hear from all.

Oh man. I almost forgot about this. I think I need to file for my wife's around July-ish.

So is it 90 days before the expiration of the Green Card issue date then?

Guess this is a good time as any to start researching what all to start gathering now.

Hey Willie!! Yes 90 days before expiration. Which makes my first filing date August 25 so I’ll be getting stuff together from April.
having a partial knee replacement on Monday so won’t be doing much for a week or two after that. How are you?

It's been a ride. Recently, due to the weather though we have been working on driving on snow, ice, etc which has made this definitely the best time to teach her the difference between awd w/ all season tires (her car) and rwd w/ summer tires (my car and stuck) lol

Lol I feel you!! I drove on snow for the first time this week thankfully hubby had given me lessons before I did alone. Last year was my rough year. Came out of it though.
Oh and I was wrong on my date august 20 is the first day I can file. What I’m hearing for evidence is quality over quantity. I registered for my own irs account so I can get our tax transcripts.

haha yeah snow and ice is fun to drive on as long as your careful. One end of our road is a huge sheet of ice and I showed her that just because her car can handle it to a degree and she was nagging at me about how awesome her car was. Well, that all when I looked her dead in the eye and slammed the breaks on ice. lmao
I got the last laugh and a lecture after that one but a lesson well taught. haha haha haha haha We got her a Toyota Camry AWD so does cars do pretty well whereas mine was a v6 Challenger and wasn't doing so well and I made it worse by trading it up for a 5.7 HEMI and basically now stuck. roflmao. Fun Times.

In regards to the next packet we gotta make. I gotta look it up again. Before my company started working from home almost a year ago. My had my wife going in least once a month to cook lunch for everyone since we were less than 10 people in size. I may see if any of them want to write out a simple testimony statement of her coming in once a month to cook viet food for them.

I know the only thing she fears at the moment is she is hearing a lot of denial stories from all those she has worked with across the last year at many nail shops and she is worried worried about it but what she doesn't realize is that her situation has been completely different and I can only assume it is because I am a Veteran. I mean hell, her very first interview back in like 2019 was it? Wow... They didn't tell me to go sit down and they let me answer the questions for her which was kind of shocking to say the least lol. Even her Interview stateside for her 2yr greencard. When we went to that interview. They separated us and they just told me as we walked back to the desk they had already decided to pass her and that the lady conducting our interview was also a Veteran and she wanted another Veteran to BS with because she doesn't get to often. lol

So, I have pretty high hopes for the next interview when the time comes haha.

Just gotta figure out what all needs to be filed now and start making that new checklist all over again.

So apart from the required  green card copy and copies of passports. This is what I think we will submit:

copies of both our driving licenses.

quarterly bank statements in both names for two accounts.
tax transcripts for 2019/2020 joint filed
copies of medical insurance showing me on his insurance and copies of procedures I’ve had utilizing insurance.
copy of house loan I’m responsible for if he dies.
car loan in both names (my car)

car titles in both names (my car and his car)

car insurance showing me as names driver.

joint investment account info

paperwork showing me as beneficiary of his investment accounts.

paperwork showing me as beneficiary of his retirement/ death in service accounts.
Quarterly water bill accounts in both names.
photos from trips taken pre CovID and any other pertinent ones with family etc
Christmas card for us both copy

May include phone bill showing my number on his account but don’t know.

If you can think of anything I’m missing let me know we only have one utility bill shared.

@AmandaandChayne I think one thing I am going to do is add a letter of everything I taught her personally while she has lived here that shows we worked on things together as a couple. IE, learning the bus routes, driving lessons, getting to know the city, financial differences between our countries, and how the currency is different, helping her with her English, and some other things I cannot think of at the moment because with us. When we left my Dad's house because she hates his ### for marrying another Viet woman that she claims is bad lol (its been funny. she is literally trying to ban my dad from our house and I keep trying to explain it doesn't work that way. lol) our new Apartment, we couldn't get both our names on Utilities, just on the Rental Agreement, but I think I can get her added as an Authorized User and maybe get a letter from them stating so and if not I will be explaining all of that in the letter as well.

I'll probably be trying to get more witness statements as well from both her work place, and both our families as well to which we did get pictures of us together at her current work place for Lunar New Year.
