Yup there is a Safeway round the corner. I didn't see Barrys, but I found PG Tips.  Its British, but a useful temporary substitute :).  There is an Irish-products store eleswhere in San Fran where I stocked up on real Cadburys chocolate and Taytos!    A trek to find chocolate Easter eggs was a failure, though.

first met late 2016, met 13 more times since. Filed i-129 Apr 14th. NOA2 dated Oct 11th.

So we filed for AOS, EAD and AP in March - Dallas office.  Fingerprints done, so now the wait for Travel/Work in Aug/Sept.  Will do a trip back to Ireland then.

Meanwhile, also been sourcing Irish food stores in Cali and elsewhere.  Will go look on Amazon.  Breakfast tea is important!

Other things I have to adjust to:

* develop a taste for iced tea,

* temperatures in the 30s,

* but expressing them in Fs,

* tornado warnings

* aggressive lane-changing on the freeway

* but give way to any auld pedestrian wandering about on city streets

* rating my bank teller after service

* rating everything as AWESOME 10/10.  8/10 is a BAD score!

There are threads for the AOS filers by month, for example I am joining the March one - created by one of us ... see you in those.

Omg reading this I have to agree with some and add more!!

temps in the late 30’s being told we will get above 40 in August and tornado warnings.

i hate ice tea!!

No one has a kettle but we do now and amazon sell Yorkshire tea among a lot of other English/Irish  foods if you allow up to a month to get them.

I can’t get anywhere without a car here and I’m not yet safe enough to drive on Oklahoma roads where they corner at 50mph.

Way too much ice in drinks especially when it melts so fast in this heat.

being bitten  to death by mosquitoes.

No Indian takeaways but many many Mexican

Not being able to walk anywhere.

Being dependant on someone

Not having my accent recognised as English/being made to say words to entertain people.

Mandatory/expected tipping.

Oh and EVERYTHING comes second to mowing when it’s dry because lord knows if you don’t it’ll be 5 inches tall after it rains. Which is damned inconvenient when mowing takes 4 hours!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Just checking in and wondering if anyone here still waiting for k1 approval?

Got our aos noa1 last week. Waiting on biometrics. One of our group has just found out her interview appointment has been scheduled very speedily!!

I’ll hoepfully be going to my first Oklahoma British ex pats meet up tomorrow night. I’ve been a bit homesick and still adjusting, rural Oklahoma  is a lot different to YORK, England. Oh and step mum is the hardest job in the world for sure but all I would change is having had way more driving than reactive before I left England cos I’m not good enough yet to be let out alone!!

Hello!!! How can I get help from a Senator for my case that has been in AP for 90 days, only with common responses, without any reason and request for additional documents, please !!! Thank you

Thanks friend! You always helping with every doubt. God bless you. We have no idea of this process that is our last hope. Do you know who we should present this letter to, should it be done physically or by email? Do you know what the email or address is or where can I ask for more information, please? I thank you from my heart.

My interview at the US embassy in Colombia was on March 19, they left my passport and documents requested. They said that we should send more documents which were sent on April 23 and from there there are only updates in the CEAC when we send emails asking and the answer is the same: They are still in administrative process, they say they take 90 days for AP, the July 31, we turned 90 days and they don't tell us what our visa issue does not allow, we are worried and sad for all this time, our exams expire in September and in November our K1 petition expires. For this type of case does it also apply to write to a senator / congressman? I read it in other forums and it is our last hope to get out of the bottom.

Hi friend @Greenbaum! hope you are well. I have a doubt, the approval of my form I129-F (Visa K1) was approved on November 26, 2018, as I said before I am still in AP, tomorrow I am 90 working days in this process, my question is this approval is due ? Is it true that it has a year of validity and if the time is up we must present everything again? Could you help me with this information. Thank you. 😉

Have you emailed the embassy of late? Once you receive a reply then let's see what are next options are. Too soon to panic.

@Greenbaum thank you for your answer.

My fiancé sent an email on July 18 and if the answer is: still in administrative process, this case is usually taken 90 days, July 31 is 90 days, my exams expire on September 10.  We found our congressman to help us, does this answer depend on the US embassy in Bogotá or CEAC?  they ask me for the entity involved, what is it?
