Hi we call uscis 2 weeks ago and we submitted an inquiry but  they said they don’t have an exactly timeframe of when our case will be review and that they are working on the case 🤷‍♂️

YeahI called too and was told my case is still pending security checks. It's been 7 months and 6 days for me.There's no time frame, we just have to wait😔 It's frustrating, but our time is coming!

Call USCIS and ask to speak with a level 2 official, or ask for a service request. our friend can help you with information @Greenbaum

No one with a certainty can advise you when the approval will come. EVERY case is different. Some are earlier then some and some can be very late. We had one couple just recently 460 days. You can call but no one on the end of the phone will tell you what is holding things up because they don't know. The only one that has any idea is the supervisor and the case adjudicator. You can enlist the help of a congress person or ombudsman (see below). Last thing you can do is sue USCIS. Other than that, you just have to wait. Sorry I don't have better news then that.

Shoot off an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

Many of us have told @Yefri this in another thread. Same answer. Frustration can be nasty I understand.

Could your step-son speak English?  My soon to be step-son speaks no English and I am worried for him and his adjustment to the USA.  He's also a little older (14).

My son could speak English pretty well. The school has helped him along the way and of course with his friends he speaks English all the time. His mother just told me over the weekend the he is forgetful with his native language and she is worried. So it can work both ways.

Your son is going to have a real challenge at his age but it can be done. The school will help but you also may consider a tutor. Sometimes you can find college students that are both Japanese and American and can speak both languages that could be a great tutor. That alone would be a great help in getting him help. I wouldn't let the language be a negative in any decision you make for his visa procurement.

YW. Don't let this be a negative. I personally think the Japanese-American college student as a tutor would be ideal. Good luck.

If you use the timeline search https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/filterlist.php you can see that the VJ system has 276 k1 entries for April and 177 have NOA2 date recorded.  Some of the other 99 without NOA2 have probably just not recorded their NOA2, but there are definitely many still waiting like you .. and many waiting who have not put their application the VJ system.

first met late 2016, met 13 more times since. Filed i-129 Apr 14th. NOA2 dated Oct 11th.

Ppl doing their vaccinations in Columbia can do them with anyone not connected to the approved medical center where  your exam will take place saving you a lot of money. Be sure to get a receipt that states every single vaccination that you received. See list below that are required vaccinations. Then during your medical present the receipt for the vaccinations to the Doctor and ask that they be transposed to the DS-3025 and marked COMPLETE! Very important that they are marked complete. You will use this document once you are married and filing your AOS package.

After you get your case number from NVC it would be a good idea if you were to connect with the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Colombia and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Get the US Embassy Colombian K-1 Packet 3 (P3) at  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7hB3bl9Snfkb0NiMVFUd2JsVjA/view  as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for your country so that you are up to speed.

https://co.usembassy.gov/visas/

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages and here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

Good luck and God's speed.

if you get an RFE,  does that mean they have went through all your stuff and that is all the info you are missing or do they just find something that you might be missing and then send you the RFE and then it's possible they could find something else missing and you will get another RFE?
