You might want to wait till you receive the RFE and read it completely as you only get one shot at this. Miss it and you're denied. Good luck.

Thanks Greenbaum, absolutely agree.  My concern to get my decree was that my divorce was more than 10 yrs ago, and in some cases it takes a week to get copies since they have to go to their off-site storage.  Fortunately they had mine local, so assuming the RFE is what they said, and after reading it numerous times, hopefully be set.

On a side note, Have you seen a Packet 3 for Dublin?  I’ve checked the country specific page, but no details similar to what you’ve posted for other embassies.

BTW, a huge thank you Greenbaum from all of here for your guidance and coaching.

I don't have a P3 from Dublin but if you receive one then if you can share it with me you just PM here on VJ and attach a PDF to the email. Thanks.

First off you are in normal processing time. Case approval is taking 220 plus days and closer to 7.5 months. So, you are not out of NPT until you reach 220 days. Calling USCIS is a waste of time as they are going to tell you nothing but wait and call back in 6 weeks.  You need a little more patience grasshopper.

This is for USCIS

Option 1:

Call USCIS. Do not press anything. Do not choose a language. If someone who picked up the phone cannot answer your question, ask them to transfer you to TIER 2.

Option 2:

Dial 1-866-953-7684

Option 3:

Call 1-800-375-5283

Press 1 to continue to English

Press 2 for case status

Press 1 if you know your receipt number

Press your receipt number 922(WAC) then your numeric receipt number

Option 4:

Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.

Thanks @Greenbaum. We will call them if we are out of the NPT, but hopefully we don't have to wait until the end of November to hear from them :)

Normally response time doesn't happen until after the minimum of 2 weeks and can take up to 60 days. So you still have this week to get through till you hear something. Your mileage may vary.

Huh - So i called USCIS - waited on hold for 25 mins. Gave them the number.
It was approved on Nov 3rd. He said that there was no email, txt or case status update on the website because they still didnt mail the NOA2.
So if some of you are wondering or left in the dark - Do was Greenbaum stated in options - Call USCIS at the number and do not push any numbers for language etc until it transfers you to an agent. Hope this helps.

I'm kind of positive, saw someone which approval, after USCIS received the information requested, took 11 days. But again, as you said, every case is different and USCIS have 60 days to respond. Just being positive and down to earth.

April 6th: NOA1
Nov 2nd: Notice of RFE

awaiting hard copy and wondering, what did i miss or what do i need to submit more? little concerned or worried

Shouldn't be. Sometimes they are very simple to respond to. With an RFE they want additional information to finish adjudicating you case. It's a positive sign.

When you receive an RFE (Request For Evidence) the best way to handle the RFE is to read it carefully. Do ONLY what it says. DON"T add tons and tons of unnecessary documents. It's not needed and will NOT help your case. The adjudicator has already made up their mind about your case and if you do what they ask then they are going to approve your case. Of course if something in your past is hanging up the approval, hence the RFE then what you return will answer the question(s) that the Adjudicator has.

I'll give you an example. Recently a couple had filed a I-129f and they received an RFE because a question was not answered. The question was "have you ever been arrested" or something near that. Forgetting about a expunge case in his youth he thought he was being honest and said "no". Well the RFE was returned and the adjudicator denied the case because it answered the question "no" when he should have answered it "yes" because of the expunge case that he forgot about. So, he had to return back to his fiancé's country, marry her, and then return to process a visa for her under the I-130 which is a CR-1 visa (spousal visa).

Also, sign your RFE where it ask and if it doesn't ask then sign the copy of the RFE that you will be returning. Sometimes they ask and sometimes they don't. We had a case here not too long ago where someone forgot to sign the RFE when requested and BINGO.... Denied! So sign even if it doesn't ask for it.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks
