Hi all,

Long time lurker here, and we just got an RFE after 190 days.  Fingers crossed it’s something simple.  At least they are still working through our April cases.  As Greenbaum has said many times to folks, we’ll be reading it closely and only giving them what they ask for 😉.

BTW, this was on the old site and app, no txts or update on the new site.

Our dates:

Receipt date - 4/24/2018

NOA1 - 4/26/2018

RFE Mailed - 11/2/2018

Good luck for everyone still waiting that you get a speedy NOA2!

Most RFE are simple things

OK, just chatted with Tier 2, and our RFE is related to insufficient documentation around marriage termination.  This should be simple, as I am going to run to the courts and get the full divorce decree with the court's original stamp, and have that ready to send.  With our application, I submitted a copy of the decree, but did not include the final settlement agreement which had the financial terms included since I didn't think that was relevant, but guess they want that.  I did include a copy of the court's stamp in the package, but will just pay to get a full and new set from the courts.  Is there anything else folks have run into, or other documentation I should be pulling together to support this?

We sent in our original submit only copies. His side, all the papers his divorce even the agreement financial terms and the other divorce decree with some modifications by court. By my side, a copy as well even with Apostille of Hague and the respective translations to English. We sent every papers we had about our divorces hahaha and no RFE for that.

Cool...thank you for that, I guess I should have included the financial settlement docs as well.  This is on my side, and being in the US, I'm hoping that a stamped copy from the court of the full decree should do it.

Hi Srinath06,

I did not submit my fiance's (beneficiary) divorce decree.  So I sent that in.

And my case was approved.

194 days here and still waiting. We plan to call USCIS next week. Dor those who have ever called USCIS to ask about your case, which number did you use to call them? And please give us an advice when is the good time to call and what day? I heard they will have an election day on Tuesday so they probably will work halfday.

Thanks. And hoping we will hear more approvals this week!

First off you are in normal processing time. Case approval is taking 220 plus days and closer to 7.5 months. So, you are not out of NPT until you reach 220 days. Calling USCIS is a waste of time as they are going to tell you nothing but wait and call back in 6 weeks.  You need a little more patience grasshopper.

This is for USCIS

Option 1:

Call USCIS. Do not press anything. Do not choose a language. If someone who picked up the phone cannot answer your question, ask them to transfer you to TIER 2.

Option 2:

Dial 1-866-953-7684

Option 3:

Call 1-800-375-5283

Press 1 to continue to English

Press 2 for case status

Press 1 if you know your receipt number

Press your receipt number 922(WAC) then your numeric receipt number

Option 4:

Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.

You might want to wait till you receive the RFE and read it completely as you only get one shot at this. Miss it and you're denied. Good luck.
