Medical Exam at St Lukes

My mother and father are scheduled for their US Embassy interview on 16 April. They went to St Lukes yesterday for their medical exam and everything went smoothly until the end of the day. They were each given a SPUTUM EXAMINATION REQUEST FORM directing that they return at 6 AM on the 10th, 11th and 12th of April for testing. They wee told that the test results would not be available for 2 months and that the staff at St Lukes would reschedule their appointments when appropriate. Has anybody out there ever experienced this or have any idea what could be going on?

Something likely came up in the chest X-Ray (a "spot") that they need to test for TB. Sputum will take about 2 months. No news is good news....if it comes back clear at the end then they can complete the interview and get the visa. If they hear back early, they either want to observe longer or it came back positive for TB.

 

If positive for TB, they will require treatment for ~6 months at St. Lukes.

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

7/13/2017: Interview: APPROVED!!!

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE
