I was getting that impression too, but hoping the OP would come back with more info so we could actually help him. I've learned around here, whenever someone comes in pretty hot right off the bat but hasn't sufficiently explained their side of the story...it usually means their version is a bit jaded and not too realistic.

That is true, we would try to help him to understand and I don't want to judge anyone because I don't want to be judged.  He has challenges but if the relationship is true, he can overcome these obstacles.  For all we know the CO kept her passport.  Maybe he was scolding her but was still going to approve her.  The cultural differences are pretty vast between some countries.  I know Rose and I have to talk about things that happen so we both understand how we perceive it.  That is difficult at times.

 

I guess the other thing that bugs me is the title of the thread.  If this happened to me and Rose, it would be a very sad day for both of us, not just her!

LOL I know! The title threw me off.

 

I agree - in reality, it could've actually gone very well and they weren't outright denied. But because of how the CO spoke or went about it may have been confusing. It happens. But like you said - if the relationship is genuine, any obstacle is possible to overcome. I always felt like, with this process, everyone has the right to get frustrated and tired. But only the ones with ill or false intentions should actually be worried or scared it won't come to fruition. Some may take longer than others, but if it's real, it'll get there.
