Finally!!!!

I called USCIS this morning and they provided me with my receipt #...my check still hasn't been cashed yet . I mailed off my docs on April 11th and was received April 13th CSC

Mailed to CSC on 4/5, and they received on 4/7.  Check cleared morning of 5/29.

 

I have also been meaning to write because we visited the Detroit USCIS office on 5/24 (Infopass appt) because we wanted to travel to Toronto.  We literally had our bags packed and wanted to hit the border immediately after our appt.  Our 20 month old son was with us so that couldn't hurt, but in the craze of packing for the trip, being a parent and everything else I forgot the USPS delivery receipt!!  Thankfully, we got a nice agent who was in training (trainer was nice too) and I at least could show them my credit card receipt to USPS on 4/5. They said they were being told to inform people to reapply and the trainer mentioned he was telling people to place a stop payment on the check?!?!  OMG...I told him in a respectful way that I wouldn't do that and would just deal with any issues with 2 checks clearing later.  (This conversation was happening after we had a general sense that they were going to grant my wife access.) I generally told him about the online groups and the information being shared here.  The Detroit office definitely did not have any insider info into what was happening at CSC and instead just new anecdotely that we were the 3rd or 4th ones with the same issue in the last few days/week.   Ultimately, they gave her a 6 month I-551 stamp (temporary green card stamp in passport)!!  I should point out that at this point we definitely were not in the system yet as having even applied as per the Detroit USCIS point of view.

 

I want to say thank you so much to everyone who has helped make this site so informative; otherwise we would be in the dark.

So we also received the generic NOA letter in the mail yesterday (5/29) which was dated as being sent on 5/24.  So they must have entered our info Thurs afternoon.  Our Infopass appt was around 12:45 pm (CA time).

So at this point there is no any information on my package even though it has been delivered on 4/30. My question is, if USCIS receives the package shouldn't be there any kind of package information showing that it has been received by them and in a process in the system?

No it sounds like their process during this delay was somewhat manual.  What I have gathered from other postings is that CSC did some sort of initial review (potentially sent rejection letters) and date stamped them received so that they could be worked in received date order once they got to them.  I literally pictured them sitting in piles grouped by date received.  They were not entering anything into the system at this time.  I wouldn't worry about them losing it just yet as they were behind and are now catching up.  Some of ours were received by CSC on 4/7 or the week of 4/11 and are finally getting NOAs or cleared checks.  If you are in a hurry look at posts of people who made an INFOPASS appt and got stamps.

Its going to vary case by case, but some say that because of the backlog there is a bigger chance they reuse biometrics.

I just called USCIS this morning since my check still hasn't been cashed. They said that my case was received on 4/12 and entered into their system on 5/25, and they gave me my receipt #. Finally got some relief!!

Hello! Sorry for not posting right away, I'm on a flash trip with my husband to visit his parents in North California. So I just checked my bank account and the check was cashed yesterday! Yeeeeyyyy!!!

I saw from USPS email that I have something from USCIS waiting for me so I'll update here tomorrow when I'm back home. Pretty sure it's the extension letter but I just want to be 100% sure.
